some internet tv's dont offer full browsing capabilities ala pc but have 'apps' and icons through which one can go on certain sites such as youtube etc.

Don't forget the wireless dongle doesnt come with the TV, this costs around £60 seperately or you can attempt a wireless bridge for around £20

Other alternative is to run wires from your router to tv.

Apparently you need to buy a dongle to get connected to the internet - would this be one of those USB wireless dongles?

Sorry to keep asking but we need a new TV for our bedroom and am seriously considering this

You only need the dongle to connect wirelessly. There's an ethernet socket on the TV if you can go with a wired connection. Our router is right next to the TV anyway, so it's not a problem!

It is this one amazon.co.uk/dp/…184

You cannot use a different dongle in the TV, as the TV only has drivers for their own model installed.

You can run a seperate wireless router near the TV and then a cable from there to the TV, should cost you less.

It isn't actually, the "U" simply denotes it's a British version of that model, ie with a 3 pin plug. And yes, the ones sold at richer sound are (it even says so on the box), so please next time if you're unsure of what you're saying find some facts before throwing other people reading this off. Also you appear to hit the caps key, LOUD NOISES.

Its not the best i've seen, however for a plastic remote its got a nice modern design, with a sliding back for the batteries and a power off button on the rear end of the remote aswell as the front. (Im guessing this saves you from trying to find the power button in a dark room) So its well thought out.
