Why be quick?

I bought the 40" 403 from amazon for £449 (granted gone up now) so to me this is cold, same price for a smaller size

I think he said that because most retailers have added about £70 onto this range of sets since Sony's offer of VAT back came in.
This exact model went up £72 during the day yesterday at John Lewis from the same price as this post to £521.95.

Worth noting that a negative for this one posted against the John Lewis one is that JL offer 5 year guarantee with their sets where i'd imagine looking at Amazons its just the standard 1 year cover

Be quick because it will go up in price soon. If you can get it for less than a net £382 then post it.

Bougfht mine from John Lewis on Thursday at this price before they jacked it up by £71 !

Picking it up today. £383 with the promotion and with a 5 year warranty is a bargain - you just hads to be quick off the mark.

I'm surprised they did not jack the price up straight away.

Did either of you get yours ??

Would like to find out what the pictures like for SD footy matches as although i watch some on Sky Sports HD i also have foreign sat with some channels in SD and have watched my dads £1500 Sony Bravia in the past and found the picture on moving players to be quite bad. My current slim fit Samsung 32" tele doesn't have these problems

Thanks.

coming on Friday

Picked it up on Saturday - still fiddling with it - as with most LCDs the picture colour quality is not as good as Plasma - I prefer my 5 year old Panasonic 42" PX60 but I knew that was going to be so - LCD is always a bit clinical on the colour side of things - Plasma is more lifelike. Freeview HD is very good except for ITV HD when it was showing a BOND film - a bit jerky on fast movement - don't know why! SD footy on BBC 1 was very acceptable as was other SD stuff on the major channels. Avoid the lesser channels like the music ones - they are low bit rate and it shows!
Internet TV is fun but just a novelty for me - the search facility is very limiting. Have not tried the DLNA stuff yet - not very good video playback support on the USB eg no wmv or DIVX BUT surprisingly it manages smooth playback of 1080p50 stuff taken with my Panasonic SD700 HD Camcorder which I thought was amazing.

All in all, I can't complain - a 37" 1080p Full HD TV with 5 year warranty for what will be £383 when I get my cheque from Sony - is not at all bad.

£499.99 now
I decided not to bother at the moment, may have gone for the John Lewis one but without the extended guarantee and lower price i think i'll stick with my current set.
