Great deal , ive just ordered one, although the amazon site no longer shows the vat back promotion the sony site still shows it and is pretty clear in the terms that you should still get it if you order today, and have the forms submitted by 31st January 2011.

"Legal uk residents that purchased an eligble Sony Product from an authorised Sony dealer / reseller located in the uk between 28th October 2010 and 24th December 2010 Inclusive are entitled to submit a claim for their cashback"

url for the promotion and its terms and forms below

Looks a good deal

Have the Sony 37W550 at the mo, not sure if worth the upgrade or not. Main advantages, slightly bigger and can get BBC iplayer through it. Might be able to sell mine for not too far off the difference too.

Thank you orderd one

from sony website, ''Cashback available only on selected Sony products purchased BEFORE 24 December''

so looks like not vat back

HOLY CRAP!!!! Ordered. Dont forget the vat back (maybe not?). Bear in mind it wont arrive until 1 - 2 weeks.

Ive got the claim form downloaded and it says "inclusive" as i posted above on the form itself so id like to see them try not to pay it

LCD TVs just get cheaper and cheaper, presumably because they are being superceded by LED TVs but still a very good price.

As opposed to plasma TVs? Do they not get cheaper and cheaper?

The claim form downloaded from sony website for vat back says '' between 28th october and 24th december (inclusive)'' in small print.

Trouble is the vat back requires a serial number for the TV, but the Tvs not gonna arrive untill at least wednesday 29th and they need the form back before 31st????

31st of january

my mistake thanks LC

31st January 2011, not 31st December... and the claim form definitely says 24th December (inclusive). So tempted...

I had a £50 amazon gift card and this offer was just tooo tempting!! ... Can't seem to get through to the Sony site for the VAT claim form though.

Is this tv 100hz?

mmmm interesting, i doubt amazon would knock the price down, + they have removed the vat back from their site which surgests there was probally a cut-off time for today, for qualified items ..... ?

Doubt it would 100% say it was 100hz if it was

Bottom line is the form you send in for the claim says 24th December Inclusive , no mention of time, so that plus the fact the form goes to Sony not Amazon means they would be in dodgy ground attempting not to pay it considering the terms and conditions of the offer

got the form - do you just write Amazon.co.uk under 'Store name and location'?

TV is only 50Hz, the EX5 or EX7s are 100Hz.

its not 100hz

Excellent deal... just bought one ...

dam hot

Is this the serial number that the vat-back form requires B003BVI4C6

Looks like this does qualify for the VAT back offer, as the form says 24th inclusive. Other people have mentioned this too. An amazing deal if the VAT back goes through, still an excellent deal without.

In my opinion yes. That model also lacks 24p support.

Whats the Store and Location we need to enter in the VAT form please advise. Anyone please help on this. Could not find anywhere this info on Amazon.
