Soooo tempting

Great scores in independent tests, perfect for gaming and movies. Can't wait

Was *just* looking at this last night on HDTVTest, perfect!

Been lookin the 32" for gamin, got lucky and got it for 270 on blackfriday deal of Amazon, 60 squid off!
Just about the best tv for the range you can get, backed by all the reviews to boot.

I was a bit miffed it's £399 after I paid JL £459 six weeks ago lol, but it's a great TV. The pain has been eased by picking up the 32" for £273 last night as well on Amazon. Heat given OP

Was £379.99 earlier, also at Amazon and Richer Sounds. Screwjob.

Never seen it cheaper. Also as you saying, same price at RicherSounds but I'm hoping you not compare JL and RS customer services

5 year warranty : irrelevant on vote. This TV at £400 : Hot.

Sony, Colour Banding and Image Detail is terrible on the Samsung (without sounding like a FanBoy) - You won't be disappointed.

(I have the 50W829 btw for reference)

£399 great price. I paid £500 for mine and think its great (although won a ps4 with my purchase so super chuffed about that)

Talking out his **** mate, they are told to sell Sammy due to *Instore/HR* relationship. Go to a store and take a USB with HD quality (not their instore demo) anything with loads of colours and details, get the Sony + Sammy together and reset both TV's picture settings (you do this, and not the staff). You'll be amazed at the difference.

Got the 50W829 (albeit a better version) but a lot of time went into buying this TV, and a lot of time on AVForums.

Yes this the TV I use paid £450 at currys the other week.
If your looking for a 42 inch TV don't want 3D go buy this.
Only thing it does not have is ITV or channel 4 but I get them on the sky box.

Same for me. I spent a lot of time checkind Samsung & Sony TV's. Samsung with similar specs might be cheaper for £20 - £50 but the quality of the picture takes Sony on the lead. Also "Smart" function works better on Sony's as I heard. I personally own a Samsung, so I'll see if I made a right choice buying this one.

it's a good TV but should I wait till Cyber Monday??

Sorry but this is untrue. I can guarantee they are not told to sell Samsung products over others. At least I don't do it. Personally I bought this Sony w706 last week at £405 inc staff discount. This is an excellent deal for an excellent TV - especially if you're gaming.

I'd prefer the warranty from John Lewis. I might just opt for the silver if the black doesn't come back in.

silver does look decent except for the grubby finger prints

I know I was saying I'd prefer JL over RS if I ever needed to use the warranty.

Is it correct that if you want to hang this TV on the wall you need the vesa mount?

The RS one is an in store deal, will have to take my chance tomorrow. Don't like the silver one. Not ideal but could be worse, buying one from pcworld for one.

Not a fan of Sony but credit to OP heat added.

My experience of Sony TVs like this is that they don't use the Vesa mount. That nice looking stand that you can see in the picture attaches to the back of the display and a bracket that comes supplied with the TV is then used to wall mount.
