any thoughts if JL will price match? perfect tv for me but want 5yr warranty

This or a Panny 46s20, any help much appreciated. Panny would seem basic in features comparison so surely picture quality would be better than all singing internet Sony?

I've got a 42x10 Panny at the moment, do I need to go to 46" 1080p? Would i see any difference on sky HD?

i don't think JL can pricematch online deals only offers within a certain distance too i think like the pcworld pricematch promotion but that stopped abit ago but good point this tv with a 5 yr guarantee/warranty would be an awesome deal for an awesome tv

The only online deals they match are those that have a high-street store as well

bought this last week from Amazon - great TV and was delivered in two days

JL will only price match the cost of the tv with a 5 yr warranty. So if Amazon charge £100 for a 5 yr warranty they will match at £669. Not even sure though if they will match amazon though. This tv was in the cribbs causeway sony centre for £599 with the 5 yr warranty if that helps. Lovely tv though, i have the 40 inch version with no complaints. Heat added.

I want the 40' one!

Got the 37" version of this and its the dogs hanging bits...the gloss black surround does mark VERY easy though touch it with a cotton wool bud and it scratches.

Hk

I have a 40" W-Series set already in the lounger but looking at getting another for the office (46" would be ok).

Does this have a pivot base? or is it rigid?

The Tv has a swivel base and turns quite easily. I have to turn it to get behind to switch it off at socket.

Is it better to invest in an led tv instead of LCD?

It depends. Many people on various forums say the picture quality is the same between LED and LCD, but whenever I've looked at them in-store, LED TV pictures always look far, far more vibrant and sharper than standard LCD screens, with richer blacks and a much better viewing angle. You will also save money on energy costs (maybe £20-40 per year?) and an LED TV is alot slimmer.

The only trouble with an "LED TV" is that Full LED TVs cost nearly double that of a standard LCD, even more if you want 3D also. Edge-lit LEDs are alot cheaper than Full, but there's the risk of clouding which many people complain about with edge-lit technology. I've not seen clouding in any of the display models I've looked at in-store though...

wow. a 46" sony for under £600? thats awesome. heat.

Great TV!
I paid this much for my 32" EX503 from Amazon this time last year. 100Hz and Freeview HD are worth every penny and the Internet connectivity, particularly BBC iPlayer, is fantastic! though i'd probably hold off using your Credit card with Sony's Qriocity until they sort out their security!

the input lag is high on this tv

Got the 32 inch version. Great tv, but no off button and menus are slow to load. Takes about 30 secs before you can use after turning on.

the input lag is high on this tv

If you are refering to peoples comments about input lag from a PS3 then it is unfounded. Not had a problem with mine and nor have others. Think its just the input lag time quoted on the specs that make people jump to this conclusion as they do seem higher than other manufacturers.

Good price for a full HD Sony 46 inch TV

How do you add heat ?

It's because they've sold out of what they have as they were selling very quickly, but are due to have more stock in. It was already high up on Amazon's best sellers list before I even posted it.

100Hz and Freeview HD are worth every penny

Agreed, at lot of people under estimate the importance of 100hz/ motion interpolation which is very good on this TV.

That's from Ballicom International, because Amazon have run out of stock but they are due more. You'll see the £649.99 (£569.99 after the £80 voucher code) on the righthand side of the page under "More Buying Choices"

Great TV, I have got this set and I paid £1000 for it with 5 year warranty this time last year, I like the in build content eg YouTube BBC iPlayer, TV/gaming picture quality is excellent, the sound on the TV is adequate but it is better to use external amplifer and speakers.

Out of interest is this better than the (now soon to be extinct) Panasonic Viera TX-P50G20B 50" Plasma?

Is it expired? I just tried to order one but it does not accept the code.

Works fine.

Remember, if Amazon have no stock then your local Sony Centre should be doing this for £599 with a 5 yr warranty.

do they deliver?

Hmmmm nice tv, I bought the 46" ex403 version about a month ago and it is a great tv, this has a couple fo extra features I don't need but as a tv this great. Paid £359 for my 46" through a Bestbuy promotion and love it love it love it.......

Great tv bargain price.

Hmm price showing at over £1100 now?? expired?

Yep - has shot up in price. Shame, because I get paid on Thurs and was waiting.

Expired.

It's now back in stock to order from Amazon, but they've bumped the price up to £730 (£650 after discount voucher) !
