What's the difference between this and the Sony KDL50W829B please?

The JL model is the KDL50W815BSU, which is 600Hz rather than 800Hz.

815 is silver, 829 is black. Same model.

I don't think this is correct. The John Lewis TV is the KDL50W829B.

The silver model is 815 whilst black is 829. Musaw is correct the the silver is also 600Hz rather than 800Hz, I have the silver model and checked with Sony before purchasing

Maybe Sony updated their website, it used to state 600Hz about 6 months ago but now i see it as 800Hz.

I asked this on AVForums a while back, apparently Sony changed the detail on the 815 model after this member queried it!

From what I can see, they are the same set, just different colours.

So ,

Richer sounds or John Lewis ???? same deal , but who do you prefer to hand your hard earned over too ???

Ordered Sony KDL50W829 last week, paid £679. Being delivered today. Been in touch with JL after seeing reduced to £599. Got £80 refund no problem. Good find..have heat...cheers.

same price as Richer Sounds and Curry's - mate has one for delivery tomorrow from John Lewis, and he phoned them to price match the other two - they have and reduced the price at the same time

Does anybody know if the TV works on 120V and 60Hz? I am leaving soon to Ecuador but I would like to buy a TV here before leaving so I can take it with me....

Only 1 year guarantee on Currys website. Sure it was 5 years before price reduction.

Why not buy one in Ecuador?

It is too expensive to buy it in Ecuador due to high import taxes

but surely you would need to pay import tax going into ecuador with you tv?

also how much is the shipping going to be to send this over there?

Amazing TV. Had mine 8 months now with a free sound bar

Since I am returning to Ecuador and I am an Ecuadorian citizen, I do not have to pay tax for my personal things....a TV would be such a personal item...e.g. the 50" cost £ 1000 in Ecuador....if I buy it here for £ 600 plus £ 100 for shipping it would be considerably cheaper...however, I am looking at the 55" version...

No difference from the 4 other £599 deals posted yesterday and price matched by JL

Got mine for £350 after selling the Soundbar and touch remote

How does the warranty works then of something goes wrong your going to ship to this country and fix then take it back to Ecuador I guess

Or spend bit extra and buy from your own country then if there are problems you will have the parts to fix it

50" is a bit big for my wall. Are there any 48.5" out there folks?!? Or do I just bite the bullet and get a bigger wall?! Hot deal. Thanks. Thats made my week.

I m in serious dilemma. This or UE486400? Help

Good question . I chose the Sony for higher refresh rate for gaming and overall better build quality. Also wife enjoys the extra 2 inches

just purchased the silver model from jl, spec is exactly the same as the black model.

Quality my friend. Got this bad boy set up last night and it is brilliant. You cannot compare a Sony Bravia with a Samsung, they are top class. Go with the Bravia.

Bought me one it will be replacing a sammy 37" this is going to seem HUUUUGE.

How much did you pay altogether, thought tv was 799 when the soundbar was free?

Clueless. Depends on model like on any product. Some Sony models are rubbish compared to the W829. Also, some Samsung models are rubbish and some get top pro awards like the 6400 and 6700 etc. So don't spout off bad information.

I chose the Samsung UE55H6400 because it was smarter.

Choose this Sony if you're all about gaming. But if you want Smart TV go with the Samsung.
