Cassettes? Are we going to get lots of comments telling us cheap cassette players will ruin your valuable cassette collection!
Heat added But cassettes!
I still have 100's of cassettes. Chrome, Metal, ferro oxide., and I still play them too.
I've got some proper mixes from back in da day, Mr Carl Cox throwing down

I'm off on the ole wild goose chase, the heads on the PROPER Hitachi in the kitchen are getting a little worn

No one will ever use this
I'm quite happy with my 8 track...
I must have 500 cassettes from a bygone era,now if this was DAB + remote control, wishful thinking.
25 years ago I'd have loved one of these.
If you have classic cassettes that you can no longer play, why not invest
They use these for the in-store music in Tesco Extras
I seem to recall cassettes are making a comeback, i.e. some stuff is being released onto it a bit like vinyl nowadays.

A daft idea... They were cr4p first time round

Why not just use a better digital version (for free if necessary as you must own the copyright from owning the cassette.)

I do remember dropping the stylus onto my copy of Invisible Touch by Genesis and scratching it on my 2nd play. So cassettes had some advantage, but really do sound muffled and terrible otherwise.

In theory you could have digital tapes storing lossless flacs, now that would be a thing.
Although I love this kind of deals, still cannot think of any use for a cassette player...I have an archive of hundreds, maybe thousands of cassette recordings , if I decide to listen to the them again, why not convert them to digital on a good cassette player straight away and don't have to bother again(tape wear, tagging, etc) ...probably an 128gb memory card is enough to store 1000s hours of recording...

Would this be the same digital tapes that took 30 minutes to 'maybe' load loco onto my 64K Commodore 64 (K as in KiloBytes)

I miss cassette tapes. Damn handy size and most MP3 tunes hardly sound better on your phone compared to cassette players. Bring them back I say!

We won't tell your mum, you're allowed to say crap
Was this yellow sticker or shelf price?
No Auto Reverse.
Remember that feature
Honestly this is ideal for those of use with older parents/grandparents, who have extensive collections of tapes and CDs and they're never going to switch to fully digital setups.
Remember winding the tape back up with a pencil. And sometimes the tape snapped

Just use a pencil to wind it all back in.

Gonna stick my neck out and say they were analogue tapes storing digital data as PWM audio, probably 1200 bps but welcome to be corrected!
What? No #Spotify or #Alexa? What does this thing do then?

Jokes aside, looks really handy to put on those lovingly made mixtapes..
can anyone tell me where to get CD and Cassette? I don't think apart from ebay used one
Seems a pretty good buy for the price. Techmoan did a fairly comprehensive review of these and a similar Japanese model - the sound quality from the tape deck is best described as "okay", but since nobody produces decent tape decks these days (and things like Dolby NR not being licensed anymore) it can be forgiven for that. A lot better than those awful boom boxes they sometimes flog in Lidl and Aldi. Link: youtube.com/wat…Ei0

Voted hot as it's a pretty good deal. Just bear in mind if you do want the best quality from your old tapes you would be better served with an older device from the 90s.

Happened on my mates Alexander O'Neil tape. I was trying to save my Walkman battery so decided to rewind 45 mins worth with pencil....and it snapped

We've not spoken since

Sorry I've just been in a sarcastic mood tonight, if it's any consolation the wife got it more than you and I will suffer for it tomorrow!
If you are into cassette by a decent used deck on eBay. No point in buying this it will probably sound rubbish.

In those days you were basically a TDK or a BASF person. Then there were also AGFA- types and the Sunday Market-ALBA types, who were probably best avoided. .
