you should not include quidco in your final price as its not certain

Why isnt it certain?
Says on Quidco 8% Littlewoos Direct.

Wheres the 15% off code from and what terms are there to use it?

People may only use it the once so you would have to subtract £5.00 from it or it may not track.

It's not certain as not everybody has it !

That is one beefy laptop for the price

excellent price for the spec plus its a sony vited hot.
edit:even tho its £549 its still a good deal. considering you geta hi end cpu and non intel graphics. for this spec you normally expect something like an acer, advent etc.

Awesome, i've been after a laptop with a resolution higher than 1280x800 for ages. Thanks very much.

is buying from littlewoods a good option? and what about the warranty if something goes wrong with the lappy? will it be provided by sony or littlewoods?

The Warranty is covered by Sony. they have a pick and drop facility if its a hardware issue. very good customer service. the warranty starts with your purchase date and a receipt is required. you can register your Vaio online or on the phone, only then you are eligible for a cover.

thanks for the quick reply !

OK, this is going to sound like a bit of fan-boy gushing, but my thoughts might help someone make a decision.

I have the higher spec FW11-ZU, but I paid £1200 for it nearly a year ago. Despite mine having a higher spec (and a blu-ray writer), for £549, this is probably one of the best laptops you could buy.

It's very well designed and looks fantastic. It's quite slim, light for a 16" widescreen model, has a pin sharp and very bright screen, and is fast and quiet.

Most importantly, it has without question the BEST KEYBOARD I've ever used on any laptop.

Considering this is your main interface with a computer, it's very important. The keys have perfect travel, are quiet, never get stuck, and the keyboard has no flex whatsoever. I spent weeks trying keyboards on different laptops before I bought one, as that is the most important factor to me. I've used or owned too many laptops with rattly keys, or with areas that flex, and it's the thing that always gets me wound up. With the screen being so good as well, I'm very pleased with it.

My only niggle (yes, annoyingly there is one) is with the trackpad buttons, which I find needs to be pressed harder than I would like, and makes a click noise a bit louder than I would like, but I use a mouse 80% of the time so it's not a biggie.

As a plus point, my wife loves the laptop too, which is a first for any bit of computer equipment I've owned, so that saying something. But I have to kick her off it a lot these days so I can use it, which is not so good!

In summary, I wouldn't hesitate if you are after a laptop for under £600.

Just bought one ! Not being delivered until next Friday but looking at the spec and brand for this price, I couldnt resist! i was looking to pay up to £500 to replace my worn out Compaq with a 1.5ghz centrino processer and 512mb RAM and figured I'd end up with an Acer then regret buying it weeks after.... This looks a steal at £425 - £460 depending on Quidco....

Thanks Kev for your nice review.... you tilted my buying desision to a yes !!

Its most likely because the £32 cashback is not guaranteed, like most deals on HDUK, where cashback is involved puts lots of people off:?

Still, without quidco also, at £460.67 this is one HOT deal!!!

For this price you wont get a Dell, HP... and it is a VAIO ... :-D super
Only a Blu-Ray player is missing...

And I think you should make the correction in title and quote it at 460 without quidco !!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks a great deal - considering how hot it got last time it was ]posted

Found a ]review and ]Amazon has a few reviews too.

Given Littlewoods history - there is a real possibility that Littlewoods will be trying to get the 15% off back from you in a few months time. :x

I for one don't want to have to go through the stress of fighting them as so many other HotUKDealers have on multiple occassions in the past.

I noticed that no one has been able to produce terms and conditions for this 15% off voucher code - so all I can say is YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Good deal with any reputable company, but Littlewoods and unknown voucher coditions makes this deal COLD.

I think that is true for everyone to consider before buying this. The term & condition must be look at before use, and don't come back complain it after few months.... I don't like littlewood to do this but they are right if you use voucher code without knowing T&C. Good Luck guys.

its all the standard stuff..only buy the laptop if you are happy with the original price listed on the website...they usually only ask you for the money back if you keep using the same voucher over and over again and if you open multiple accounts...lots of people on HDUK post vouchers that are used by many people..not really a risk if you are happy without the 15% off.

I can just image trying to argue this one in a few months time:
"But some guy posted on a website somewhere that the terms for the voucher code I used were SIMILAR to those on your website for a completely different voucher code"

You'll really impress the bailiffs with that.

Yes, lots of HUKDealers post and use lots of voucher codes for lots of companies - and yet I've only heard of the Littlewood group accepting discount voucher codes, taking peoples money, sending them the goods and then months later demanding their customers pay them the discount back.

if you don't want to take the risk cancel the order, don't ring them whatever you do that will just make it worse for yourself and then you are giving them a reason to charge you more. If the 15% bothers you just cancel it before they dispatch though or they wont let you cancel after that (you will have to return it for a refund).

I have ordered one too. For the discounted price and believe me, if they complete the order and send me the Laptop and then try to charge me more, they have two choices, They get a secondhand Laptop back in their stores to sell, or they honour the price on their website. Its a done deal. In this day and age of companies struggling to move stock they are thin ice regarding this. But regardless of that fact, I believe I am in my rights. I used the voucher in good faith, they honoured it and sold me a Laptop for the price less the discount.

I will take em to the cleaners mate and am happy for you to join me. The credit card company for a start cannot release more money without your say so and if they do then claim of them and let them sort it out with Littlewoods.

Why am I confident. Well.....to coplete the purchase on line I have a secure password protected credit card with tesco.I have to put in details fo the payment to be authoirised,,,, I did it today. If Tesco (Mastercard) decide just to let littlewoods charge my card for more money, I believe they are on extremely thin ice, let alone Littlewoods, If the Laptop arrives I am NOT paying any more for it..
