They have had them for weeks and a member of staff said they were returns.

Can't verify, just what I was told.

Good price but awkward to set up. I got these for peanuts when they were free with the 2gb walkmans. I just sold the walkmans to CEX for pretty much cost price.

As Monkey nuts 2 says, these have been in JL for ages at this price. Ask yourself why

I read some user reviews and decided not to buy.

The network unit is a little tricky to set-up. On the bright side the sound quality of this speaker dock is brilliant. A great unit if you need such a product for a Sony Walkman.

Would be ace for house do's or barbeques... Keep everyones sausauge grease fingers away from my PC and CD collection.

Will be checking reviews 1st though after reading the above comments!!!

Wow-you've just reminded me, I have one of there boxed and unused in a cupboard somewhere..cheers

I brought one of these from JL about 8 months ago, you will need to download updated firmware and software etc. Took me about 4 hours to set it up but its an awesome piece of kit when you do and the sound is very good for a little thing

Does anyone know if this will work with Windows Home Server or does it require some Sony software on your PC? Thanks.

Initially, you will need to load on Mcrew server from Sony (disc included). Then you need to set it up. Then you'll need to update the files.

Then it's hit or miss. :whistling:

If I remember correctly (never a given, these days) the reason I didn't go for this is that your PC needs to be running to run the music server software, i.e. you can't play from a NAS disk like a Linkstation or similar.

I got these a while back (Free) with a sony mp3 player deal from argos.

I still can't get them to work with my Vista pc. I tried at the time (nearly a year ago) downloading different firmware upgrades but still couldn't get them it to work. So only use them with the Sony MP3 player.

One day I'll get round to phoning their support center and get them to talk me through getting the radio to work with Vista. Since they were free guess I can't complain. Sound quality very good.

If you do get them, make sure you can take them back if you can't get them to work.

If anyone has got them to work with Vista please post instructions. Thanks.

Click on the links to update the ]Software and the ]Firmware then it should pick up either Mcrew server on your Vista pc or Windows media player.

Enjoy.

I converted most of my library to Atrac3+ at the lowest setting and to me it sounds better than WMA or AAC at their default bitrate and the files are much smaller.

Monkey nuts

THanks for the Software and firmware links. Unfortunately when I clicked on the software link it took me to sony support/m-crew downloads page, but when I accepted the T & C a window in japanese opened up with some interesting pictures :whistling: which I had to close down immediately - didn't want the kids to see it!

I'm sure that's not supposed to happen.

I've had one in the cupboard for ages too - I've just decided to get it out and dock a A818 player but for some reason I can't get the remote to go up and down the folder menu - I'm thinking this is probably to do with the walk the folders are on my MP3 - but has anyone else has had this issue?
