Good price but I had one of these and returned it. I found it to be too bulky - it's bigger than it looks in the pictures - so I would suggest that if you are considering buying one to head down to Jessops / Curry's / etc to actually try it out first before buying it blindly online as I did.

picture quality not good either

Nice camera, was thinking of upgrading from the old model, the HX20V, but found that it's now got too bulky to comfortably carry in a trouser pocket.

I have this camera and have just got back from using it extensively in India & Napal for 3 weeks.
The battery life is fantastic as is the zoom. yes it is more bulky than other compacts but this is due to the big zoom and it feels rugged and well made. its been dropped on the floor, using in hot, cold and the rainy conditions and is still working fine. I find the picture quality to be very good for the every day user who is not a avid photographer. it can be a little sluggish and glare can be an issue with the screen in direct light but for the price i would totally recommend this.

Sluggish is a term that no decent camera should ever be accused of. Maybe 10 years ago but not now.
So if it is indeed sluggish then it's clearly and indication Sony have gone for specs over function. If rather have a 3 times zoom and take a quick snap than a 30x zoom and miss the moment.

It's quick to take the snap - focus is fast and accurate - but it can be slow shot to shot especially using flash or when post-processing multiple images, for instance background de-focus, low-light multi-frame or HDR.

Awesome little camera, never mind the 'know it alls" who would argue otherwise.

If a 30x zoom in a small package is what you're after then at this price go for it; otherwise no. I had one last year but not for long; the image quality from my LG G3 is better.

Same price at my local Tesco. Don't believe the detractors this is the best value compact camera out there.

Pictures on my LG G3 i am not very happy with so would have though this would be better?
