Cheaper than Amazon
Hot deal, never seen this cheaper than forty quid...

Also stock is available (approx half the stores in Nw London have one)

Just reserved one, going to read up on it first... I think it's a good model from what I remember
I have one of these in the kitchen, it's an excellent radio. Bought one for the folks as well. Great sound and easy to use, never had a problem with it.

Only negative is if you want to use it without the mains adapter the batteries get rinsed really quickly.
Eats batteries ..only suitable for mains use.

I have rechargeable batteries just in case. Very easy to use aswell. Ideal for personal use with headphone jack. Nice one DonkeyKonk!!!
Great find OP. Been after this one for a while and cheapest I've ever seen it. Just reserved one by me. Thanks.
Also on ebay, item No 360557342793 plus £3.95 p+p from the Argos Outlet, if you do not have a local Argos store.

...I've reserved another one for my bedroom now.
Another plus with this is it has DAB+(plus) according to the dab symbol showing on the argos pic of the radio which correct me if i'm wrong is the latest version of DAB broadcast for better coverage & quality, ordered n heated ta op

Yep, Dab+ is better, and also is better for using in Europe I believe,

I have a Sony dab iPhone dock and was really impressed with the quality, sound, reception all good.

Have seen reports of battery life of 13 hours using the batteries, which for dab isn't bad IMHO.

Reserved the last one at my local store. Thanks OP.
had one of these for a few years now, great little radio, oozes quality, paid 80 quid for mine though
Thanks reserved one. Can never pick up Chill FM on my mums DAB. Hope this can or I'll take it back.
Hmmm. Looks like Argos have a new reservation system. Got a txt saying I will be notified when it comes in.
TY............Heated.............;)
Not brilliant reviews on Amazon. Apparently it eats batteries, and after a while the power point/switch can be dodgy.

There was 1 left at my local Argos. I'm very glad I reserved one. This is my best Hot Deal original post thus far!
Went for this - the last one in Aberdeen - thanks

This radio always gets a lot of bad reviews. I remember seeing The Gadget Show review it a few years ago with other DAB radios and they never went much on it either.
Surprising for Sony.... as their analogue radios have always been excellent.
Hot deal! Thanks op
Great price. Reserved one.
But prepare for a fight when it goes bad just out of warranty.
Too many bad reviews on Amazon - but thanks for posting.
I have the one without the FM. Unfortunately it stopped saving the channels unless the mains power is left on. Been like that for a few years, so I would be careful, however other than that it's been very good.
Got the last one in Cambridge just now. Thanks, OP!
I got an excellent quality Bush DAB radio from Tesco for a tenner two years ago and after those two years of intensive use, it's still blasting out crystal-clear digital radio like it was brand new!

Town or retail park?
amazon.co.uk/pro…s=1

Seems main complaint is the batteries, if they do last 13 hours from 4xaa that's pretty good, the equivalent Bush dabs give 6 hours from 6xaa batteries.

Thx. Reserved one at my local store. There is one left in the Bath Store if this is any use to anyone?
Voted Hot..Many thanks op,got the last 2 in stock, picked up one for myself and for a family member..

I'm chuffed...
Surprised by bad reviews, plenty available in n.ireland stores.
Some available still in Hull.
Great radio, but only three preset stations and no alarm. Definitely a kitchen radio rather than for the bedside.

EDIT: sorry it does have a sleep mode :shame

I'm sure it has a sleep timer, my earlier model has it.

From description, appears it does...

This is the 56 model, which looks very similar to the 55 so maybe some reviews are a bit "wrong" anyhow.

If Sony claim 13 hours for the batteries, i expect it'll be less than that........ also 0.3 watts is painfully low speaker power.

As a comparison..... I have a £20 Asda portable DAB that i use in the bathroom. It has 2.5 watts RMS and 4 AA batteries last 21 hours.
Really great price little put off by:
