I paid forty five quid for these beauties 12 months ago when they first appeared and they're still going strong to this day. I use them daily with my phone and laptop. A steal at this price. Especially if you've never flirted with the concept of 'cutting the cord' before.

Apple's devices (iPod/iPhone) do not support the Stereo Bluetooth profile (A2DP). Just about every other device on the mobile market does though. Not that that's any small consolation for what you pay for that thing. :-(

The sound quality is as good as the source material. It doesn't deteriorate in transit if that's what you mean. The signal is crystal clear, without the background hiss associated with FM style wireless headphones. I'm not a fan of the in-ear/noise cancelling headphones personally, so of course this traditional on-ear design will suffer a little sound leakage. Just don't turn it up to eleven on the train and you'll be absolutely fine... and with Winter on the way, they'll keep your ears warm too! :-D

sounds good ... hott

a question tho... is the battery replaceable?

hey im pretty interested. however 2 guys on amazon complain about the following:

but as I turn my head from side to side or move the phone up and down in my hand, the sound will stutter slightly or cut in and out
true?

I find if I turn my head to the right too far, with my (walkman) phone in my right pocket then the music stutters, but otherwise it's perfect.

Not sure. But taking what I've already stated onboard about my own sets lifespan, usage and the advertised price seen here the preference for a removable/replaceable battery is entirely negligible in my opinion.

This is an incredibly rare occurence and is not isolated to this device. It's a Bluetooth effect defined as 'signal smog'. Where a large number of bluetooth devices are all in operation in close quarters there can occasionally be a momentary drop in the signal. Think of it as getting lines crossed. It's not a detriment to this product and certainly should not impede your purchase.

The reviews you have read may instead pertain to Bluetooth's 'line of sight' transmission (Upto 10m). Your audio will parse from your pocket to your ears through clothing with little trouble but bury the device at the bottom of a rucksack or briefcase with a laptop in and you might suffer for interference. Again, nothing that you wouldn't expect of the technology itself and shouldn't detract from what is otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable experience sans cables.

ok man you have convinced me. im getting one!

I got a pair of the £17.99 play.com Sony bluetooth headsets and it is fantastic. I takle it everywhere.

The only down side is that I look like a nutter when I talk to anyone on the phone as they just look like a pair of over your head headphones.

Would highly recomend these as they look like an updated version of mine.

Haha! :-D I can understand that. I've actually made a point of cupping one hand to the earpiece with the mic on it when taking a call through mine now so that I put across that I might actually be on the phone and not simply talking to the voices in my head! :w00t:

Not that there's anything wrong with talking to the voices in your head you understand.

Yes I understand.

Good.

Ordered, was gonna go for some motorola ones for more cash, these look much better... does anyone no whether you can use these to here sound through ps3 or can they ony be used to as a bluetooth headset?

Can't get my head around the details of what is included and what it can do.

I was hoping to use this on my laptop as wireless headphones, will it need a usb bluetooth adapter or does it come with one?

Also this has a built in mic right, is it any good?

Lastly how is it charged?

thanks

I don't think this comes with the dongle to make it work with iPods/iPhones. I have the set with the dongle, and it works great for music and calling on my iPhone.

voting hot.... but i've already got these headphones as a bundle with a sony mp3 player

Paired these up with my MP3 player and also my K800i mobile phone and working great. These are a bargin at this price!

Not as far as I can tell with my set.

Unless you have Bluetooth built into your computer you will need a 'dongle' to enable the functionality in your hardware. I use this one which enables stereo audio as required here, hands-free support for instant messengers and file transfer among other Bluetooth profiles that can be used dependant on the support of the connecting hardware.

The mic is entirely acceptable, but don't expect it to work miracles in a crowd. It's charged via the supplied cable from any wall socket. Check the customer images through the Amazon deal link to see a shot of the port.

So long as the source device is set to output at 100% then yes, you could blow your brain out through your nose if you really fancied.

Obviously if the source is outputting at 20% volume then no amount of increase on the headphones themselves is going to amplify enough to compensate.

Do you need a special USB bluetooth dongle for this, or will any do?

Thanks

Will this one work?

amazon.co.uk/Blu…8-1

Would mean i get free delivery as i can buy both together.

I only want to use it to on my desktop, listen to music, use voip software etc don't use mobile phone much, so don't care about that, and won't ever be used in a crowd as desktop is always at home.

Thanks. Im running them with a HTC Kaiser, quiet even on loudest setting with boost I will order a pair. these are great for the gym thx. H&R added.

great price

yes any bluetooth dongle will work however you will only get sound in mono(through both channels of course). if you need stereo output you need a get a dongle with A2DP function which apparently the jabra one recommended to you got.

sorry what's the difference between mono and stereo sound? Is it quite noticeable?

They will with the iPod, but you need a bluetooth dongle as bluetooth is not built in. Sony has a dedicated bluetooth headphone/dongle for iPods - google BT22IK. They featured here a while ago. They sound like cheap headphones once you have them set up.

well, you know whats stereo sound right? its the effects you get when listening to music. on the mono no effect and the stereo you get the effects. if you are into music its worth the difference.

just checked their website, it does say it supports A2DP, stereo is a must for really. Will risk it, at being half the price and so small, if it doesn't work, will just return it back to amazon.

hi guys, been looking for a pair like these for a while as I've started going jogging on a morning. Will these be any good for that? Because I'll be putting my phone in my trouser pockets when jogging and if my phones moving about a bit, will the signal be too weak and start cutting out? My phones sony so that should help a bit a think.

I wrote one of those negative reviews on Amazon. The build quality of these isn't great, but then I said that based on them being twice this price. The sound quality's good, but the audio kept cutting in and out and stuttering so I returned them for a refund. As I said in my review, I don't know if it was the headphones or the phone that was causing the sound to cut out (I've got an LG Viewty), so at this price it may be worth taking a punt on them cos you can always get a refund if you have the same problems I had. Amazon pay for return shipping, so you've got nothing to lose.

thanks, understood, and i meant the dongle's website says it supports a2dp, whether that's just lawyer talk i guess i'll find out when it arrives.

if it doesn't work, i'll push for a refund as they misadvertised it, but at £4 it won't be the most expensive of mistakes

What are these like for jogging/running/exercise? Stay on your head?

I can't agree with your 'build quality' issues. Yes, they are predominantly formed of plastics, but this makes them lightweight and durable to flex. The money that was being asked originally was a bit much in this regard but you're actually paying for the functionality.

It's a shame you had such trouble with the set since I could not speak highly enough of my own time spent using them religiously with my Nokia and Dell.

I think they're designed to be slightly smaller than the average head as the plastic arms can flex outwards to wrap around it. Resulting in a nice firm hold.

Hmm, I'm looking into the same thing, Amazon's website doesn't say it suppors A2DP, but some other retailers do, e.g. this:

dynamicsounds.co.uk/pro…681

I've ordered it with the headset, and if it sounds ****, I'll simply return the dongle for the Jabra one

That particular player doesn't appear to offer anything by way of Bluetooth connectivity according to Sony's website so I'm afraid not. It's cables or bust.

Thanks, ordered some. Hopefully these will stay on my ears and give me more time to pull me strides up.

Damn that thing costs more than the bluetooth sony earphones I bought last week. I'm looking for something that will let me use bluetooth headphones with my nwza818, think I'll wait till the receivers get a bit cheaper though. Sony make their own but its ridiculously overpriced.
