Great reviews with awesome 1080i video. Cheapest I've seen this and is from Great Deals via Amazon who have 99% positive feedback. 15 available.

good deal....almost as good as the panasonic tz10, which i opted for over this, the samsung wb650 and canon 130? as a cheapish pos for trips where bulky dslt kit isnt ideal - skiing etc....tz10 had more options but the sony had a better feel to it

id be wary of alot of amazon sellers though as alot are imports - euro plug and warranty - not major issues but something to consider

This has way better lowlight perfomance then my TZ7- and feels better in the hand....i would have had this; but it was £225+ at the time...:(
Bargain- great camera!

The TZ10 can give the best IQ results (in good light), but you gotta hand it to Sony when it comes to genuinely useful features & they did it without the pointless manual controls that some manufacturers give you.

The next gen travel compacts seriously raises the bar though - should start to appear next month...

Any hints/links? I know we've got the TZ20/TZ18 coming from Panasonic but what about Sony's range?

Sod's law - just bought the HX1 two months ago and along comes the far superior HX100. Did a fair bit of research too as the HX1 is quite an old model, but there was no sign of a replacement on the horizon.

The HX9 looks damn fine too

Sony's HX9 and Fuji's F550EXR for the win

Ordered yesterday and arrived this afternoon. Can confirm it is a standard UK plug not a euro spec. Great camera. Just sampled the hd movie mode Woooow!!!

Same thing happened last week. They only had 15 available but they were snapped up within 2 days. Another 15 were made available on Monday just gone. If ur after one I would check again next Monday.

Was still saying 1 left in stock. I ordered mine Monday evening after researching for ages. TZ8/TZ10 or SX210IS and WB600/650 were all contenders but this seemed the best all round package.

TZ8/TZ10 didn't seem to be so point and click friendly.
SX210IS has the popup flash and Canon have recently remapped all their useful buttons to menus!
WB600/650 didn't quite beat the Sony.

Can wait to try out the Burst mode and Hand Held Twilight mode.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the HX9V has the popup flash which I can happily avoid like the plague.
