I'm sure lots of people these days would instead spend £40 on a nice set …I'm sure lots of people these days would instead spend £40 on a nice set of headphones to wear whilst driving.

Way too distracting. I like to be able to hear the road noise, engine noise and where applicable, the passengers (excluding the missus of course, that's when the headphones would come in handy).

OOh it has MEGA BASS, it has got to be good
Must be very old, designed for iPod!

No bluetooth it seems.
Lack of Bluetooth is a huge minus in this day and age
Really need bluetooth, but this is still a good deal with usb and aux from sony with a 2v pre out.
Heat for FLAC support
Wot no DAB

wtf do you lot want for £40 quid?? I have one of these in my old 2 seater (Not the passat alltrack) .The sound is great and it charges an i phone surprisingly well when plugged in. Only criticism is the volume / menu dial toggle is easily pressed so you go into the menu when altering the volume. you just have to be delicate...

Wouldn't mind actually as I've got a huge collection of cassettes! My 2009 Lexus RX has a cassette player fitted as standard 🏽

Really needs a Bluetooth.....
Don't want to mess around with aux cable etc....
Another £40 with Bluetooth, will definitely recommend....
End of the day £40 is less than amount needed to fill the tank once and this will get used every time you get on the car....

Will it pick up 'Family Favourites' on the BBC Light programme?
Outdated and as such overpriced. Voted cold.
2000 called and asked for their tech back
I need your help to get me back to the year 1985 !

... Well with Vinyl making a comeback and Halfords selling these retro stereos - what next Harry Moss 8-tracks ?
They are fine but aren't they quite old?

Only if you get caught
For all you Bluetooth naysayers you can buy an Bluetooth receiver with an aux to aux male... Works a treat in my 107 cost me £2 off Ali express
So it doesn't play CDs or tapes, how do you get the music in there? :O

Given the number of cars I've seen failing to move out of the way of emergency vehicles over the last 6 months I'm sure you're right. Pitch black the other night and it took ages for the car in front to notice, they even overtook the vehicle in front of them that was stopping to let it pass. Then finally panic and they slam on the brakes causing the ambulance to have to do the same.
Like France we should ban headphones for drivers and cyclists etc.
Could you plug an external HD into this into the USB and have a massive music selection or is it limited?
Sony headunits are terrible
Who uses these still?

Surely a car with a built-in features is cheaper nowadays!
