Ordered thanks. The left stick is in the proper place unlike the official pad.

Why is square and circle swapped around in the argos image?

Good price, voted hot.

As for the Argos third party pad, that looks horrible and most third-party pads are rubbish. That one does at least include tilt and rumble. As for the wireless-ness of it, it sounds like it is wireless via a dongle. That's not as good as using bluetooth as it uses up one of your USB ports whenever you are using it.

I love how you call it the "proper" place! Personally my first dual analogue pad was the original dual shock so I'm used to having both sticks towards the bottom. I have a 360 pad for my PC and, while I get on fine with it, given the choice when playing the like of Geometry Wars I'd prefer both sticks to be at the bottom instead of raising the left one.

After using the Dreamcast, Saturn and 360 analogue pad, I just find it hard to get used to the position of the PS3 stick. I just feel like I'm having to stretch my fumb but it all depends on what your used to really.

Why so expensive when it feels like theres no insides? At least the xbox 360 controllers can be had for generally below £20 and feel quality compared to these

All you ps3 fanboys who are always going on about microsoft charging us £30 a year to play on live should take a look at why SONY are letting you play there (Mediocre) service for free.

Maybe because they charge you over inflated prices on the hardware

hot deal! was looking at buying one at some point. any reason why theyre £10 less now?

still well expensive, what are the other official options?

i would pay £20 - £30 a year if ps3 made thier online playing as good as it can be, its pretty rubbish at the moment and sometimes unplayable. But it would have to improve a lot.

ERROR, yes.

The Sony (SIXAXIS Wireless Controllers replaced by) ]DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controllers offer wireless connectivity based on Bluetooth technology (but without a "discovery" mode so they only connect to a PS3 or PSPgo console). The DUALSHOCK 3 offers thirty hours of continuous gaming from a full charge (via the controller/PS3 Universal Serial USB port connection).

Microsoft ]Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers use a proprietary protocol for their wireless communications (at 2.4 GHz) offering a range of thirty feet for up to forty hours (from the rechargeable battery pack, or from two AA battery cells; alkaline or rechargeable).

A PS3 console can support up to seven SIXAXIS/DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controllers simultaneously. An Xbox 360 console can support up to four Wireless Controllers concurrently.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Controller has eleven digital buttons (including the "connect" button allowing synchronisation with the console, & two digital "bumper"/shoulder buttons), two analogue sticks, two analogue triggers, & a digital (Directional) D-Pad.

The PS3 DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller is motion sensitive (six axes), has two analogue sticks (with 10-bit precision), two analogue triggers ([L2] & [R2]), eight pressure-sensitive buttons ([L1], [R1], [Start], [Select], and the four PlayStation buttons; [triangle], [circle], [cross], & [square]), a pressure-sensitive (Directional) D-Pad, as well as three digital buttons; the [PS] button, [L3] & [R3].

The cost of the components in each controller influences the consumer retail prices.

BFN,

fp.

Bought a 3rd party one for half the price with the same functions and works on my pc as well as kids ps1/ps2/ps3

The RRP for an Xbox 360 controller is £32.99, and the RRP of the Playstation 3 controller is £39.99, a difference of £7. Add on the Play and Charge Kit, (a must for any gamer who plays a considerable amount) which has an RRP of £14.99 and that makes it considerably more. Yes you can get the Xbox controller for cheaper, but you also can with the Playstation 3 one, and i got my second one in a deal several months back for £18.

Also as mentioned by fanpages the technology used in the Playstation 3 controller is superior, hense its slightly higher cost for the controller alone.

Not to mention other accesories the Xbox 360 console charges for, or makes money off. That including online play, having to buy their branded hard drive (only allowing a maximum of 250gb), until recently memory sticks (which i had to buy several years ago so i could take my profile to a friends, without having to recover all the time), the wireless device (for the majority of people without the new console), and im sure there are other examples.

So don't go criticising THEIR service until you get your information correct.

I did it by accident initially, but then i edited it out.
For some reason it seems to have reapeared - probably another bug, i'm going to try and edit it again.

this get 203 degrres heat and i posted one a while back for £29 sumfing and only reached about 30c

I own prettty much all the consoles currently on the market, PS3, XBOX360, WII, PSP, DSLite. THE xbox is better online full stop, please no arguments it is and pretty much every reviewer in the industry agrees. The xbox controller in my opinion is better for First person shooters whilst i like the PS3 controller for racers. The tech in both is of a very high standard so why argue on that. I play my xbox much more than the PS3 due to ease of online gaming and meeting up with friends ect. WHAT THE PS3 does do well is graphics, and only when its used corrrectly i.e. sony's star titles and exclusives. Factor in to this that battlefield and cod at the top online games currently and youll see why i use my xbox. Both are great and i love sonys sleek/stylish interface. You guys are never going to agree on this and tbh its quite childish using technology as tool to argue its pretty much down there with my dads harder than yours and this is funny. Just enjoy both and really if your just fussing over tech and graphics your not going to enjoy the games r u. this is an age old war and personnely love it as it keeps both companies on thier toes. Good price for the controller btw but ill wait till its on special again as £30 is too much for any controller i think!

Maybe because yours required you to enter a code to actually get that price? Plus It also looks like it expired pretty soon after you posted.

Sorry just read my statement, sounded a little like im fanboying xbox lol, just to clarify i find gaming online and meeting up easier on the xbox than on the ps3 but once gaming find the overall experience to be much the same on both, happy, good

Just buy a XCM Cross battle adaptor 2.0 - this lets you use Xbox 360 pads on the PS3.

It seems extremely drastic if you want to change to an inferior console just because of the controller.
There are a few third party controllers that may be more comfortable.

you can just use a code at very and get this for £25 or maybe less..:D

How much will the batteries cost you over the 10 years this gen of consoles is meant to last for? Would end up costing much more than the ps3 controller so dont say stupid things while trying to justify your point.

Could you post me a link to show me where i can get these magical AA batteries that last forever?

DK you do know that there is a battery in the ps3 controller and I'm pretty sure if it breaks or goes flat(to the point of having no cells left) as I'm pretty sure fission ain't being used in either the 6x or Ds3 then you have to replace it(if you can buy them) or the whole controller.

Rechargeable Batteries been Invented though. So welcome to the 21st Century and make yourself at home.

You are wrong, you can replace Dualshock 3 batteries. There are guides on how to do this online.
And plus the Lithium batteries in the Sony controllers are so much better than AA rechargeable batteries, and don't require the inconvenience of taking them out and placing them on charge.
