Thanks for that, great find! don't forget to use the code 5OFFWEB to get it for £2.84 delivered.

I have one for my slimline PS2 but it broke recently (god-knows how). I wanna replace it but i dont recall there being a third accessory in the box - i.e. whatever the object in the top right of the box. The Slimline PS2 has a built-in sensor so doesnt need an adapter, this looks like it has one so is it for the chunky PS2?

At £2.99 you could take a chance and use the built-in IR sensor on the PS2. Or plug the included sensor in and see what happens.

Since the company has not specified compatibility you would be entitled to a refund. Or get your money back and sell it on *cough* ebay.

A lot of the chunky PS2s didn't have the sensors to use these with - so this one may not come with a sensor. The later chunky PS2s (they have a '+' on the box) have sensors, as do all slimeline PS2s.

The remote shown in the picture has a sensor included.

we got one for .49p when PCworld/Currys got shot of all that PS2 stuff afew months back, not bad though!

wonder if this would work with the PS3?

Ditto.

This will work with the slim line. I know as i have one. But some features wont work. Liek the remote has a open disk tray button, obviosuly the slim line ps2 has a manual disk tray open i.e u have to push it so it wont work with the remote. No big deal though really.

But that version hasn't been in production for years, so I severly doubt it's the same one - it's just a stock photo.

Just trying to help those who may order in error thinking it has one when it almost definitely won't - it means the bargain is open to more people if less people are buying it without being able to use it.

If it's this remote, I don't think it has an eject button or standby either by the looks of it :?

Well if people receive the one without a sensor included then they can still get a refund.

This wont work with the PS3. The PS3 uses bluetooth so not even the basic Harmony remotes will work with it. Only the £200 newer harmony remotes can be used with the PS3. Gutting really.

really tempted to get this...but dunno if it will be compatible with my PS2, which I purchased on the same day that Metal Gear Solid 2 came out?!

the remotes are compatable with any version of the PS2 (inc slim ones).

Just afew of the features wont work on some models, like tray edject etc....wich isnt really a massive loss.

Sony do their own remote for the PS3 though..

Not unless it has the sensor which is doubtful.

It won't work with every version unless it has the sensor.

I don't mind going for it and see if it will work, but is it free returns?

Also this for £1.99 with sensor, but unofficial obviously - choicesuk.com/Pro…983.

Been toying with the idea of actually getting one of these for ages so I can use the PS2 as a dvd player , £2.84 made my mind up in a flash .

Great spot , HOT & REP added

Got mine today and not happy, since:-

1) It's not the version with an included IR sensor so won't work with my early PS2

2) The packaging is damaged and full of dirt!

:x

Got mine today. No problems at all - great bargain.
