This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Versatile, well reviewed lens, would make a good upgrade from the 16-50mm kit lens, particularly if size/weight is important or you don't plan to do much video work. Otherwise the 18-105mm f4 G may be worth considering instead.

Currently around £499 plus £50 cashback from Sony. This is for a new lens in a plain box (split from an A6300) for £429, and with the 20% code (PREP2020) brings it down to £343.20.

Camerapricebuster suggests the cheapest it has been is £399 (£349 with cashback - assuming it was eligible) which was arguably a better deal to get a proper boxed lens but I think this is still a good deal.
Community Updates
to clarify, this isn't eligible for the Sony cashback

this is a refurbished APS-C lens, not new - hence the price

note there is no manufacturer warranty, but there is a 12-month warranty from the seller (if they honour it)

When I looked earlier they had manufacturer refurbished Zeiss 16-70 E mount for 400 (after applying code) on Camera Centre UK eBay store.

Just a viable alternative.

Sony are doing £80 cashback on the 16-70 as well and Camera Centre UK are on the accepted retailer list. But not sure if this will be eligible as via eBay and refurb. Worth a go for anyone that buys it though.

I can almost guarantee that sony won't honour an ebay cashback, as they require the invoice. Unless cameracentre UK gives you an official invoice with their name on it, and doesn't specify that it's a refurb... big risk though, so don't bank on getting the cashback

FYI you can get cashback on purchases from Dixon's travel as they're owned by Curry's. Just make sure to take a photo of the label in store, keep the receipt, and screenshot the product page on Currys.co.uk. The bottom of the Dixon's website also says they're owned by Curry's. I had to provide all of this info to get my cashback on my clearance SEL35F28Z lens - but I got it! 265 after cashback for a brand new lens - best deal I got all year

Thanks for the info - I'm not hopeful about the cashback but I'll probably give it a go anyway.

Re: the community update - personally I wouldn't consider this a refurbished lens. It is categorised on ebay as refurbished, but they describe it as brand new, it's just not retail boxed as it is split from a kit (unlike the 16-70 referred to above which is refurbished in the traditional sense).

Presumably with the serial number Sony will be able to determine that it is from an A6300 kit which I'm assuming makes it ineligible for cashback (along with the fact it is on ebay).

agreed

still a good deal for those willing to look past the possibility of no manufacturer warranty and no cashback

just adding info to help so nobody's confused about what they're going for
Great daylight and best Zoom Lens for the money for APS-C sensor.

Falls a part in lowlight, especially in video when ISO can't compensate low max aperture.
Same with 18-105mm f.4, great video lens for the money but also falls apart in lowlight even when shooting in Cine4 flat profile.

18-135mm is Extremely Sharp with super fast autofocus. Not suitable for gimbals however since it's expanding significantly when zooming.
it's rather plasticy' in feel, zoom wheel gives nice and smooth resistance, extremely quiet.
Bokeh is rather weak, and won't replace prime lens.
great lens for small alpha mirrorless cameras especially when you travel on holidays.

Great info thanks. Looking forward to receiving mine
I hate retailers who sell white box splits. Always comes across as untrustworthy.

I'm surprised the manufacturers tolerate it.
