I can understand why people like these but for what they are, they're way too expensive.

This is a good price if you want one of these. My other half reads one book a day on holiday so this will save alot of excess baggage on a two week trip with Ryan Air . Much nicer to use than a notebook or a tablet.

Kindle not in the UK yet.
Sony E-Reader requires a Windows computer
Think I'll have to stick to paper for the time being.

Actually it doesnt need a pc at all, books can be loaded onto sd cards.
It can be used on linux and is seen as a mass storage device and programs such as calibre are open source and can sync with the readers library.:)

Can only be loaded onto Pro Duo cards - I downloaded some e-books for a friend and this is all it supports

not sure about the use for something like this as its quite big, only black & white and you can get news book readers for many things like the iphone and g1 but this is certainly the cheapest I've seen this product for so heat added.

There's two slots, a pro duo and sd, i've loaded hundreds of books and manuals on sd on mine.

Is their any good mobile phone app ebook reader out their?

Waterstones have dropped their price on these too, but only to £199 - the new model must be on the way.

Have anyone bought one of these at this price, if so did you get a free disc containing 100 FREE complete and unabridged Classics favourites

book fanatics prefer real books, I have an eccentric uncle that fills his checked in luggage with books

Thanks for the info; maybe if I find a way to convert lit and chm to compatible formats I'll be sold on it.
NB Notice how play mentions that there is an optional 110V AC charger available for it, and apparently the Sony book store doesn't permit UK shoppers.
