Has anybody got this phone on this deal and can confirm that it is actually unlocked?

Thanks.

all o2 phones are not unlocked, contract ones are,
pay as you go arent.

usually all o2 PAYG locked

I thought PAYG were locked but contract phones were unlocked...

Ooops...took a phone call whilst waiting to upload reply and everyone else has replied! Obvious question has to be 'how easy is this phone unlocked'...

I have a K810i with 3.2Mp, but my understanding is this phone isn't so good even with 5Mp?

Hot, been looking for this on O2 for a few weeks as we need a change. Just bought 2, one for me and her indoors.

Wanted one of these until they announced the C905! 8mp camera with Xenon flash, not LED like on C902.

Hot deal though

Is this phone more worth it than the getting an iphone currently.

If your looking for an unlocked phone, you can ask Carphonewarehouse to price match this and get it from there.

I read somewhere that all of their phones are unlocked (bought two pay as you go phones last year on different networks, both unlocked)

Mine is payg and my wifes orange sim works in it:thumbsup:

To be honest, with a sensor as tiny as a mobile phone's the diff between 3mp, 5mp and 8mp is going to be about zero.

A 6mp DSLR will always produce better images than even a 10mpx phone because the sensor's about 10 times bigger.

Yup, D-SLR has almost a full-sized 35mm CCD/CMOS to work with.

It's a decent phone for what it is. I'm still going to wait for the Sony X1 on my contract though I reckon.

If she's always indoors, can't she make do with a landline?

Wow, its like we're discussing rocket science in here.

Of course a D-SLR camera will take better pictures, that's common sense. Wait till the stage when they get phone cameras as good as compacts. Next thing you know is they'll be sticking phone capabilities into D-SLR, just for a laugh

search for sony ericsson phone camera images on flickr, some of the results are pretty impressive.

I used to have a K750i, it was a great little phone

I love SE phones, I think I would actually own a C902 if I didn't already have an iPhone. C905 will replace my iPhone when its out.

Nice price for the product, hot

Shame it aint the w760i red that my GF is looking for

Having used both phones, K810i is king when it comes to photo taking, it felt very slow the auto focus, pictures werent focusing and the light didn't really help.
K810i auto focus is brill, even without light, but when used with xenon flash it's got good pictures, I've also added a new camera driver to tweak even more, and pictures just come out great.
My mate sent his back after comparing it to my k810i, so he went with diamond.
Though it still is a great offer on a new phone, and I like se phones.

TBH, iPhones are poor. They are over-rated, and over-priced. If you like a phone that has a nice design, get an iPhone, if you want your phone for any other reason, look elsewhere.

Wife has just bought an o2 one on PAYG, I'm guessing it is unlocked as her Tesco sim works fine in it, even tho Tesco use o2 lines.

O2 phones are unlocked.

Yep ur right. Tesco works cos they use o2's reception anyway. Its the same way that virgin would work with t mobile handsets and vice versa. Try a completely different network for accurate conclusions

I have a k800i, a 3.2MP phone and the picture quality on it is brilliant. I also have a K850i, a 5mp phone and the camera qualtity on 5mp is worse then the k800i on 1mp. Ive tested this C902 phone aswell and the quality of the k800i is much better then both. Why the hell is that? I want to retire my k800 but dont want to compromise for a crappier camera, when it should infact be getting better! SE are screwing up in that regard!!

cmartinuk;2548120

O2 phones are unlocked.

lol this happens everytime an o2 payg deal comes up on every thread :-D

I can only speak from my experience and that is all payg phones I've bought direct from o2 have been locked, only unlocked payg phones I've got that were unlocked (no matter what network sim came with it) was from Trotters Independant Traders (sorry CPW / e2save).

All o2 contract phones are supplied unlocked.

Oh and I totally agree that the K800i has a great camera, way better than the K850 that I sent back within hours.

I wish this was the red addition..... still voted hot though!

Got mine from p4u on o2 payg and the wifes orange sim works in it fine so not all are locked:whistling:

When you buy PAYG Phones direct from O2 they are locked to o2 however carphone warehouse and phones4u buy their phones direct from manufacturer then put whichever sim in so are almost always unlocked,The quality of recent sony ericsson phones has suffered because they have started using Samsung CCDs which are not up to the standard they were using before but are probably cheaper due to samsungs huge manufacturing facilities,This is still a decent price for this phone though but im sure prices will drop everywhere soon with so many new models coming

Just tried my Orange contract sim, and a payg sim in it and it works fine. Was bought from an o2 shop, o2 branded box, and o2 start-up screens .......:whistling::w00t: and still unlocked.

And regards iPhones, using my version 1 on Orange and it works a dream, has everything. Now waiting for my Orange contract to end to get the 3G version
