he Sony Ericsson J230i mobile phone doesn't want any nonsense. It knows how to have fun, it knows when to behave and - unlike your mate who's always getting into trouble - it never confuses them.

The practicality starts with the phone's menu, which gives you two choices. The 'single icon' menu shows each option as a full-screen colour image, while the 'icon desktop' shows all the options on-screen at once - rather like a PC. Just pick the one that suits you best.

Talk, text and picture messaging are all handled well. You can make calls in the conventional way or by using the built-in handsfree loudspeaker. There's a predictive dictionary to help your texting and - although there's no camera - the J230i will still let you send and receive picture messages.

Activate the FM radio on the Sony Ericsson J230i and you can use the phone's personal handsfree kit to listen in stereo, with programmes interrupted automatically when it's time to answer a call. Talking of time, there's an alarm clock and calendar on the J230i to remind you about appointments. In addition, there's a mobile internet browser and a selection of games. It may not be in the mood for messing around, but the sensible set of features makes the Sony Ericsson J230i a very appealing little phone.

does anyone know what network the TALK network uses?

looks like something they are taking out simular to talktalk landlines service, Somthing also like fresh mobile, tesco mobile where you can only get the pay as you go network top ups from selected stores. If i was you i would stay with the main ones like o2, orange, t-mobile, vodaphone and virgin as the othes may be difficult to get hold of top ups

If you see what i mean
