It's DOTD for 14/03/12 - price goes live at midnight
probably the most pointless invention ever !!

more useless than an ashtray on a motorcycle
to be fair the 'price elsewhere' should say that it's £15 from Play after midnight - ie saving is only £2 not £10+ that it seems
Still overpriced. Find it clunky and unresponsive. Nice idea badly executed.
Typical, I bought mine for 24 from amazon about 2 weeks ago. As for the most pointless invention ever...I don't think so.

I have a galaxy note that I play music from at work and this is ideal to skip tracks without getting my phone out and dropping it into machinery etc. It also works from the other end of the store if I decide to play the music through speakers. The text message/facebook crap I have no use for but as a remote for the music it is fine. The downside is that it often disconnects and the range isn't great. I am using tasker at the moment to open the liveview app on the phone and initiate a connection again which makes it slightly less frustrating. Worth the cash though
Don't touch this with a very long bargepole. I gave the product the benefit of the doubt but it was rubbish and I returned it.
I bought one a few months ago and still use it most days. Really handy, especially in meetings and to stick on the steering wheel to control music.

Your meetings sound fun.
Do you have to hand the steering wheel to the person who wants to speak?
I'll wait until it reaches bargain basement price... £3.99 or less
Handy for switching music / adjusting volume.. But it just doesn't stay connected
Used it on 3 different android phones, tried all the tweaks like locking the app it in memory, modding the bluetooth files to allow auto-reconnect and setting up a tasker script to manually poll and reconnect it.

Also Facebook and twitter integration has to use the SE app.. So no push notifications and an extra battery / data drain as it needs to sync separately.
GMail isn't supported
Very few apps, most of the ones that did exist are no longer supported (And broken)
Notifications are't pushed through (WHY?) so all it's useful for is music, caller ID and texts

None of this made it usable.. Just sitting on my desk.
So don't think like I did: Every current owner is not using it wrong, it just doesn't work :P
Also a new version that might actually work is coming out shortly
This has now been replaced by the Sony Smart Watch which is £70+

Probably not even worth that! I was bored last time this came up on here, and bought it for 15. Took it out of the box, realised after an hour that it isn't actually touch screen, more 'touch around the screen', and is completely pointless. I figured I'd get it for changing music at the gym or something, but I feel like a fool wearing it anyway, and it's not very responsive!

Don't bother!

Good deal for a handy gadget voted hot from me

I bought one when they were cheap last time. Having a permanent BT connection to my mobile drained my mobile's battery, and the connection kept dropping silently. I gave up in the end but it was a promising idea.
I've tried this with several phones and several versions of android. Like other posts say, it constantly drops the connection making it frustrating to use. Mine went on eBay eventually after several frustrating months. Of its not worth having it unless it's at a giveaway price, which this still isn't at £12.99. Avoid.

I did this, but a 6G nano was £119 and the TikTok strap another £25.

Same here, my battery was drained in half a day!
I've run through the plethora of fixes on xda-devs to try and get the liveview to stay attached to my smartphone. This includes but isn't limited to, rooting the smartphone, installing an automation app to auto reconnect, altering the memory allocation to background apps, and hacking the BT config file on the phone for the liveview. Still get random disconnects all the time though.

Bought one last week for £15 as I thought it sounded great, but it's an absolute piece of rubbish. Even with the latest firmware update and app (including the 'fix' app) it won't stay connected to my Acer MT. You genuinely spend longer trying to get it to connect than you do being able to use it. Avoid at any price.
Ah I was hoping it would have a 3.5mm jack so I could stream music to my soundsystem
I would add that these are mince, even with the update.
The newer ones look better, and all the rest.
I hate BT devices. I really do. My phone drains its battery within 5-6 hours and without the BT always on it stays on for 2-2.5 days! Started using my S9 HD with my laptop after seeing the miserable battery performance. (Shouldn't be a problem on the expensive phones, I should think)

Nice idea, though. I wonder why the other manufacturers don't come up with something like this.
@shadowman40 - totally agree the smart watch is money better spent. If you mainly use your phone for telling the time the smart money goes on the smart watch (music controls & certain app integration also very good plus points).

For £70 & if Fitbit or NikeFuel get Android app the smart watch will be bought by me.
I only use this for one thing and thats jogging if I didnt jog it would be on ebay.
not worth the time with this.

returned it after 1/2 hour, i bought it when it was £15 and regretted it.

If you just want to stream music to stereo take a look at this;
amazon.co.uk/Bel…8-1
Does it have V.A.T.S.?

Not sure. However it is S.H.I.T.E
Rubbish idea, amazed that it got to market, but good price if that's what you want. The smartwatch is just as naff (in_my_opinion).
