Warning note - Item 30 - Play.com Terms & Conditions.

All electrical products are covered by a twelve month manufacturer's warranty. If your product develops a fault while under warranty, please contact Play.com and we will advise you where to send it for repair. It is a "return to base" warranty therefore there will be a delivery charge to return the product back to the relevant UK service centre.

Many other retailers have a policy to offer repair / replacement of items under the 12 month guarantee (including return postage) and therefore offer a better service.

Buy an asda sim for 50p cheaper calls and texts than Ikea plus the sim will work in this phone

Thanks for the advice. Think we'll go for it & get the ASDA SIM.

I'm curious why you feel the need to repeatedly post the above?

I would imagine it would be because he has been messed about before like this, and it is always worth knowing. Some of the most "respected" companies so beloved on this site are some of the biggest disappointments when something does go wrong :-(

After 28 days you have to arrange your own repairs - Consumer Direct have told me to take them to court but only trouble Jersey as different consumer laws. Just highlighting the poor service

That does surprise me because Play have always taken back anything I have not wanted without question. But then again I have never bought something like this and needed to claim on the warranty.

So - can somebody confirm that this phone will work with an ASDA sim?

Are all T mobile / Virgin phones compatible with ASA?

No Asda is on the Vodaphone network

I have this phone and I hate it, it's the worst phone I've ever had, it's slow and locks up all the time, when I try to answer calls the button dosen't work straite away so I keep missing calls.

That's funny, I bought 2 of these over a year ago from Argos( + 2 Free DAB portable radio's! ) and they've been fine, no lock up or slow operation. Infact, no prob's whatsoever. We like the picture quality, call quality and it's strong phone when it's dropped (many times!).
I'd definetly say get one if you need it.

What part/parts is/are not true?

For anyone wondering, these are the speakers you get free with the phone. They look **** but the reviews on Play seem to give pretty good feedback...

p.s. Does anyone know if this phone is better than the w350i - also £49.99 at Play?

Need a new small mobile and have been told to get one for £50 - not fussed about the camera but will probably use the music side of it..

Seems a pretty good deal. I bought this phone (and an LG Shine) from Orange Accessories shop (reconditioned phone but basically brand new) for £54.99, but at the time there was a further 10% off code and a free 2gb sandisk memory card.

Had to pick up a handsfree headphone set and data cable separately (these are customer returns so they don't always get all the accessories sent back, so only package the phone with Charger, User Guide and sim card) but picked these up brand new from fleabay for £4.99.

As to the posts about Play and their repairs policy, just to confirm, Jersey has different consumer law to mainland UK (I spoke to Jersey's Trading Standards about this when my daughter's Sandisk sansa mp3 player developed a fault after a few months) and was advised to deal with it under the guarantee as it would be a quicker and more statisfactory outcome.

Jersey are in the process of improving their consumer law to be more like the UK's but in the meantime just be aware that attempts to get goods replaced thinking that the you can use the same Sale of Goods Act terms as in the UK, will not wash with Play.

Explain!

Banned

sounds good , might get one for my birthday.
i like the idea of half price with free speakers.
it's brilliant!

whats the camera like on this?

Good deal... does anyone no if you can put an 8gig micro sd card in this phone?

Cheers

jjlobban;3504106

whats the camera like on this?

its a decent camera, one of very few walkman phones with autofocus.

just ordered as now back in stock

reviews on phone generally good and speakers ok

so fingers crossed

Received mine this morning - but no free speakers
(the speakers are what swung the deal to order this rather than the samsung L810v phone)

i have rung the helpdesk who told me that they will be back in touch within the next 5 days to advise (either that they will be sent or if i want to return the item for a refund)

Just wanted to see if anyone else who ordered got their speakers, or has had the same problem.
(and is it worth keeping this phone anyway or returning and going for the samsung, which looks a nicer phone?)
