Great deal, but this phone is awful for usability in my opinion unless you have small hands!

Why didn't you buy the pro then?

Whats the difference between this and the other x10 mini?

Don't agree with that at all. I have one and have large hands and have no problem at all, even with an on screen qwerty keyboard added. It's a superb little phone.

I got the Pro and it's great, solves the texting issues experienced with the mini, and makes it more usable. Although I imagine it would be hard to use if you have fat fingers, cos it is little!!

The "non-Pro" X10 mini is smaller, lighter and was £5 a month cheaper on a contract. The screen is definitely small but quite usable, and the default on-screen keyboard works ok for texting.

i'd pay the extra £20 & get the pro:

i got the HD2 & even though its got big screen texting is such a pain. so no point of having unlimited text if i'm not using it. so definitely the pro for me

Have an HD2 as well and is the best touch screen phone for texting I've ever had... Don't think even the best touchscreen can beat a half decent qwerty though.

I have this on a £15 3G contract (300 mins/texts with unlimited internet/3G to 3G/Skype calls)

It was cheaper than the sim only deal I had with O2 so I went with it.

It is a nice little phone but there are some big buts...

You can't remove the battery and you MUST charge it every night otherwise it will be dead half way through the next. (unlike my old SE phone that could be left for around 4 days without charging).

When texting, if you select the wrong person by mistake to send it to, you cannot go back and correct it, either you send it to the wrong person, or you cancel it and re-type it.

Doesn't have an inbuilt voice recorder.

you can't record sound and make it your ringtones.

I found out only 2 days ago that it remembers 999 calls made, this can be very bad if you accidentally call the last number without realising, taking up emergency services time and may be costing people's lives. my previous SE phone did not remember 999 calls.

It seems like this phone was rushed through without simply putting it through user testing. I like the tariff I am on, and for a 'free' phone it's OK, but with what I know now, I would have looked at something different.

I have a 27cm handspan and have to wear XXXL gloves in winter so would tend to disagree - although I have the Mini-pro it's not that different.

You can add a second (correct recipient). Then the original recipient can be deleted by touching the X next to their entry in the list of recipients.

this runs android 1.6, which is old... should be at least 2.1 going to 2.2 soon, but un sure if this will even get 2.1, this is poor for a new phone.

I've had this phone for a couple of months now, and have been very happy with it. S.E. say the 2.1 update will be out before the end of September.
