Full credit should go to member 'tdk2bu' who originally mentioned this possible deal in the thread about the White Xperia Play at Phones4U - if Mods feel this is a duplicate feel free to expire or amalgamate with other thread.

Confirmed this deal was 'live' at Phones4U store at Glasgow Fort - price labels clearly stated that for existing Orange and T-Mobile PAYG customers, the price was £129.95 with no top-up required. Sales Assistant confirmed phone would come with no network branding and would be unlocked.

He also explained (which was backed up by the Point Of Sale literature) that it included 10 free games (6 pre-installed and 4 downloadable - not sure what the games were).

He seemed a bit vague as to what constitutes an 'existing' Orange or T-Mobile PAYG customer and only stated that the sim had to be active and have credit remaining on it - I would imagine there would be a minimum amount of time that the sim card had been used for but just speculating on this - he did mention it is very simple to establish whether your sim is eligible for the upgrade price of £129.95 (just provide your sim card or mobile number if you don't have sim with you or you can even call your local store and enquire about the Upgrade deal on the Xperia Play PAYG and they enter the number into their computer and get an instant answer whether it is eligible or not.)

I fully appreciate this deal might be limited as it only benefits existing Orange and T-Mobile PAYG customers but thought it worth posting anyway.

The store in Glasgow Fort had 1 in stock and were expecting deliveries on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of next week. They only had the Black model available and no mention of the white ones anywhere and didn't look like they even stocked them. Their telephone number is 0141 773 2697 if anyone wishes to call and confirm deal and to check if their Sim is eligible for Upgrade at the £129.95 price - you can check the Phones4U website and get the phone number for your local store.

Hope it helps some.

UPDATE - ALSO WORKS WITH O2 AND VODAFONE UPGRADES - O2 PRICE IS £129.95 AND VODAFONE IS £139.95.

you don't need to bring the SIM card for the upgrade. All you have to do is have an upgradable number, which means a number that has been used and not upgraded for 6 months. With Phones4u you'll even get £10 free top-up on Chritsmas day. What I suggest is go to the store and leave them your contact details so they could inform you when they get them.
Hot, cracking deal for existing customers, I'm on Vodafone monthly contract and just bought this today instead of my HTC desire... paid the 149 for though
thanks for the deal. Will try my luck tomorrow
Hopefully u've just sorted xmas pressies out for my 2 kids, thought i was gonna have to go with contracts until this came along.....Thanks for the deal
Op and you waited to post this after the other deal ( in another colour ) come off the front page.
cant wait to see your next post...perhaps in pink tomorrow.
cold from me as its a duplicate ( just wish the mods start moderating ) as I have seen 2 duplicate posts in the last couple of days
Paid 150 quid for this phone in the O2 deal and was worth every penny! If anyone finds one in stock at this price, snap it up!

That's exactly what I was trying to do with O2 but whenever I go through … That's exactly what I was trying to do with O2 but whenever I go through O2 using Quidco or TCB, my order gets rejected at the last minute and I refuse to not take cashback on principle.Technically, the phones are very similar - same CPU, same GPU, same OS and skin, but the Play has a very nice, large display vs. the Mini Pro with the benefit of the keyboard but a low-res screen. Having used one at a CeX (a Mini Pro), I'm staying put with my Play which is a brilliant phone for the money and I was using an iPhone 4 prior to this.If you are buying a Play, I highly recommend downloading Swype as the onscreen keyboard is awful and almost caused me to sell the phone.

cheers buddy (and Scotty Boy) The Play it is then

One thing to not is that this phone is very bulky compared to other phones and the OS is laggy at times.

The first thing I mention in the post is that credit goes to another member. Also, the thread you are referring to is priced at £159.95 and it is only on about page 3 of that particular thread that this possible deal is mentioned - this would rely on everyone reading an older thread and then reading every single post to find it. I thought by posting as a seperate deal, it would bring it to the attention of many more members and hopefully benefit more prospective buyers.

I also mentioned in the description that the Mods were more than welcome to expire or amalgamate with the other thread.

Thanks for the cold vote anyway - the site is not about individual glory but trying to help others.
Down-d-d-d-down! It seems to be the case with this phone every week, those who badly want it go-fer it but I have a feeling this is going to just keep dropping pallets of stock left at Sony HQ I reckon.
Great price

No probs mate
Damn was about to keep low profile about this deal on another thread, and now a new one is out, I will be snatching up mind tomorrow to prevent disappointment
I have a few questions if I may:

- Is this definitely unlocked? I'd like to use a 3 SIM in it. (I have a T-mob SIM somewhere)
- How chunky is it (I'll check it out in the shop)
- How is battery life?
- How is the camera for things like barcode reading ?
- I assume this is full proper android?

Sorry for the Qs,I want to upgrade mu pulse. This all sounds a bit too good to be true and too cheap to be a good phone! Where is the catch?!

possibly free 6 months internet and applications worth £20 if you choose t-mobile?
My thoughts are upgrade to get the phone, plus 6 months internet and £20 worth of apps, then sell the phone at CeX for 5p profit. Or keep the phone when I decide I really really like it

Shame I can't get down to Phones4u until the weekend!
Hello All,

If you buy this phone make sure you check that the headphone socket works, I had one of these phones from the O2 deal a couple of months ago. Everything was fine until I tried the headphone socket, I did a bit of research and appears some of them have issues.

Oh and if you want a protective silicon cover for it I've got a brand new one still packaged at home lol.

Hot deal by the way.

Thanks, much appreciated. In the unlikely event of finding in stock I'll confirm later
Cheltenham P4U have none, haven't had any for weeks and are not expecting any in either. Not sure if this is regional but apperars to be store specific. Don't get too excited about this offer as my son did!
No worries - back to the online offer which is still very good!
If you find one though - well done.
none in luton
Ordering online only works out £3.50 more expensive if you don't want to venture outdoors.

£149 for the phone, but you have to spend £10 on topup (which you would probably do anyway), you also get £10 credit free, making it £139 essentially, and then £6.50 quidco, and its unlocked still.
