Product Description

FREE Sony Acessory Kit Worth £99.99. Includes spare battery, case + HDMI cable.

Full HD quality that everyone can enjoy
Very light, compact and easy to use with great video and still image quality, even in low light. Full HD recording on removable memory card for easy sharing. SteadyShot Active Mode and iAUTO for effortlessly beautiful images.

Low light, no problem
Many camcorders struggle in low light, producing grainy, fuzzy images. Super sensitive Exmor R™ CMOS Sensor reduces image noise for clearer images. In conjunction with the powerful BIONZ processor you’ll get great results in low light, dim interiors or at dusk.

No more camera shake
Wobbly pictures caused by unsteady hands are a common problem when you’re shooting without a tripod. SteadyShot Active Mode keeps things clear and stable, now offering up to 10x stabilisation at wide angle settings.
Everything’s adjusted for you

It can be hard knowing the right camcorder settings for a particular scene. Intelligent AUTO (iAUTO) takes away the guesswork, selecting from 90 different combinations of Face Detection, your shooting situation (handheld or tripod), and scene types. Handycam® then adjusts all parameters for clear, satisfying results.

Best-ever Full HD picture quality
More bits in every frame means better-looking pictures. For quality-critical productions, new FX Mode captures detail-packed 1920x1080/50i video at a full 24Mbps – the highest bit-rate specified by the AVCHD format.

Looks a good price, but the accessory kit is no where near worth £99.

Hot deal especially with the accessories: Got one of these last Chrimbo for £299 so it's a goood deal. Amazing HD quality. Best Camcorder I've owned to date. Sony do an underwater cam housing which is great for the hols.

Was even better last month when there was £50 cashback from Sony. Got the same camera for £150 :-D

can u just check the cashback deal to see whether they extended the cashback

I have the 130, this range is highly recommended and a real step up from my Sony MiniDV.
A great price but the RRP of the accessories is laughable.
Voted hot.

I just cried at the fact eBuyer value this at £99, but hey' it's business.

I bought the 130 for 245 b4 Xmas and got the case for a tenner & the cable is only few quid. Still not a bad deal but not super hot

From what I can find the price for the additional items is around -
£10 for the bag
£5 for the HDMI (at most)
£14 for the battery

Around £30 of added stuff. The typical price of the camera is around £220 so with the added stuff its around £250 worth of gear for £200. Still a good deal, just not as good as being implied.

I think for the exact branded items, you won't get them for £30 - more like £50-60 so I think it's a good price for an excellent camcorder

decent HEAT

It's a 2 year old video camera now.

My handheld HX5V produces better video than this, poor camera imo.

can they take another £99.99 off and not have the free kit?

Buy the HX7V, far more superior.

I got a HDR-CX115E last year - very bad picture quality. Combination of CMOS sensor and poor 1080p interpolation results in an image that is actually inferior to 13 year old MiniDV SD recordings I made with my old Panasonic NV-DX100B camcorder.

Just proves that not everything labelled 1080p HD is good! I now have a Panasonic SD700 camcorder - now that is a good camera but the Sony is really poor even for £200.

I would go for this, looking at youtube clips the image stabiliser is far superior on full zoom.

@aircanman why would you recommended a camera for a camcorder. With less zoom, limted resolution options and recording time its not a direct replacement

well I am glad Ebuyer cancelled my order with all this negative reviews on here, gets really well reviewed on Amazon?

Remember I am not trying to be David Bailey just take family video, is it really that bad?

anyone know how this sums up against the model above this cx130, im after a camcorder but im thinking about that one because reviews etc seem good however its slightly more than this

10X Zoom is ample for most applications, 30 min recording clip limit is enough for most people, it has more resolution options than this one. Quality wise, and usability, the handheld HX series beats the pants off all but the top CX camcorders, believe me I have owned them all, right up to the professional 2000 range shoulder mount. It is surprising when you have seen them all in action.

Plus when you use a good camera, the video recording function is far more natural feeling than using one of these handhelds.

Just got one ordered for pressie...not bad price for what you get....and it is about price...

Voted hot but personally I prefer the Panasonic HDC-SD80EB-K
It's been as low as £215 on Amazon but it's £224.95 at the moment
Free camera bag here
£50 cashback here

wow i was lucky to get this camcorder for £40 in tesco when they had all the funny prices going on. Btw it has no pause option while recording, it creates a new file.

Don't take any notice of the negative comment, this is a brilliant camera. I've used quite a few and this is rates as one of the best. Brilliant buy if you can get the cashback

Does this have the wide angle lens like the Sony CX130, which is £50 more or so at Argos? If not would probably go for the CX130.

No it doesn't

I had an HX5 and now have the HX9 and the video whilst great isn't a touch on this, especially in low light conditions. I used one of these and also my HX9 to record the kids opening the presents and I was hugely dissapointed with the compact compared to the dedicated camcorder.

The HX9V is very different to the HX5V - I would suggest your poor experience is user error.

The inclusion of intelligent auto on the video mode of the HX7 and HX9 means you need to change some settings in order to get the quality experienced with the HX5, which uses a standard exposure system for all capture.

Honestly this CX is not a patch, you only have to see how shaky the footage is to realise this, image quality is also much better.

Although I already have a decent camcorder, the video samples of this model on youtube really look good, even the low light ones..
