For some reason I just have the urge to say:

' Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayman '

in the kind of funny Yankee voice...

nice specs on the camcorder, however one would be better off buying something with an internal HDD e.g. minimum 30gb... so there won't be any worry of running out of and having to buy horrid cassettes.....

HOT though.........

Something with 1 touch PC burn is good as well as you can easily edit it (especially in Sony camcorders) then burn straight to a DVD using your PC

Depends what your preference is with Tapes or HDD.

If your off for a 2-3 week holiday then the 30-40gb HDD isn't going to last. Unless you take a laptop. A bag full of blank tapes are much easier to carry or you can buy as you need em.

Also with HDD - If you just want to take off a 5 minute section, you have to transfer the entire contents of the HDD to your computer and edit that out.

My preference is still tape - Cheap as chips and you can transfer to the PC for editing at your leisure.

If quality of picture is important to you then tape is still the best as it compresses the signal least for storage. I would buy tape.
