Unless I'm mistaken, that wouldn't be hi-def (if it was a Sony) because the SR5E is the bottom of their hi-def range and it has a 40Gb drive.

correct me if i'm wrong but that wont be a high definition one, not for that price. it will just be a normal hard drive one. Dixons online have this high def model for £512.10 so not much cheaper at amazon. i'd rather pay the extra couple of quid incase it goes wrong i can take it back to a store rather than send it off somewhere.

Amazon has the best customer service going far far better than DSG group you try and return a camera after 3 months to both of them and then see!

is this camcorder any good I heard panasonic were better.

Its good for the price, putting it onto the highest quality does zap the battery but it has a lot of features and the camera, although only 1MP is ok.
