Any expert opinions?

Thanks OP!

Same as above this or the Samsung Deal which is better?

No Bluetooth or NFC on the Samsung, so definitely the Sony if I was buying.

Review of the Sony - no cons for the money apparently (review price was almost double at £149): avforums.com/rev…157

For audio, I would always go Sony over Samsung.

I have the non Bluetooth version of the Sony sound bar and it' sounds amazing for the price.

I've got this, this version doesn't come with Bluetooth by the way... The Bluetooth version is around £100 more. It's a good soundbar but it's nothing amazing. I had the Xenta soundbar from ebuyer which was excellent until it went wrong -.- nevertheless this is a great upgrade from the tv speakers.

Oops, I'm wrong, this is the Bluetooth version :P

I have a 40 inch Samsung smart tv, would this benefit the tv less than the Samsung one? I mean is it more compatible when they're the same make, or doesn't it matter?

Thanks

Code no longer valid.

I got this bundled with a TV, the nfc/bluetooth feature is pretty great! You don't even need to turn the speakers on to pair via nfc, feels like magic every time...

I have this too - from a package. The NFC really is great just put it near your phone and it pairs instantly - christmas music over the sound system in seconds.

My biggest gripe is that the remote is tiny and the Sony TV remote can't turn the sound bar on when the TV goes on.

Ditto amazing for the price! Can't fault it and NFC pairing is so easy (if you have android!)

Great find - been waiting for a decent one around this price. Hot.

Just ordered and code still working fine for me.

Any good offers with a wireless sub?? That's the only thing I'm holding out for!

Not being funny, as long as your item is over £100 the only deal is using the code !!! So the Tesco code is the deal..

I want one of these but have a cantilever TV stand so nowhere obvious to put it.

Any ideas?

Ordered thanks op.
I've been looking for one like this for ages.
The code worked for me.

NFC? No F***ing Clue what this is!

NFC? No F***ing Clue what this is!

Lets say Its something similar to Bluetooth.. please google

The tech specs say no Bluetooth, although the title has it in the description.

Tempted, but no hdmi in is a killer for me.

Tap your phone on the speaker with the Bluetooth on and it should connect.

It has a couple of screw hooks for wall mounting. If you mean that you pull the tv out from the wall (so the soundbar won't always sit under the tv) then I guess that's an unavoidable issue of using the cantilever mount.

It 100% has bluetooth (the "BT" in teh model number tells you that), I have this and use the bluetooth all the time for playing my Spotify from.

Thank's op just ordered with some AAA batteries to take it over the £100 spend.

Quite correct, you are not funny

just what I want. Thanks!

I read something about it not always working well with other TV brands, we have a Samsung TV, does anyone know if it would work/connect properly? Thanks

I've just got this bundled with a TV. how so I stop the sound coming out of the TV speakers so its just on the sound bar? I would have thought it was automatic but it appears not to be the case..

Excellent... been looking for a bargain soundbar!!!
Ordered and picking up tmrw from local Tescos

Can clubcard boost be used to purchase?

Surely it'll be in your TV settings, set the sound output to optical only.

Looks pretty good for the price. Have some heat - thanks.

Just turn the volume down on the TV?

The soundbar should still get a signal and work at whatever volume you have the soundbar set to.

That would not work, your NFC needs to be on, having Bluetooth on would not do anything

Either way it's a quick way of sending a tiny bit of data and requiring almost 0 electricity to use it.

If you have seen the Barclays advert with the guy paying for stuff on a roller coaster...it's basically that xD

I bought this from amazon last month and ended up returning it as I wasn't overly impressed with it. The maximum volume wasn't all that high - a lot lower than the TVs max. I would often end up with it on max wishing it would go that little bit louder. Maybe I was expecting too much from a soundbar but the build quality and clarity was excellent.

I got this last week from Argos @ £95 for my girlfriend to go with her new (Tesco smash n' grab black Friday bonanza) Blaupunkt 50" TV, as one of her Christmas prezzies. The sound is great but not amazing, it wont blow you away, but it gets louder than our neighbours will ever allow us anyway which is why i didn't spend more on a higher wattage model.
The sub doesn't require its own power supply its just a 1 cable affair connecting from the bar. Like others have said this model has optical, phono, Bluetooth + NFC connections, No HDMI so if you require that look elsewhere.
It is a looker and quite reasonably sized at around 38" long and 2" high (I like the fact the Blaupunkt logo on the TV is now covered by a Sony logo :p).
I just wish i knew the code (if at all possible) to link it to my Talktalk box remote for added convenience. If anyone knows then please post it

It might not be the soundbar, you might need to have your ears syringed
