I'm assuming this is the one recommended for my 65XF9005?
Great sound system, although one gripe is no LCD screen so it’s difficult to tell what sound type is being listened to, OSD is relatively ok. Nice to know sony supply firmware updates for this model.
have you had any lip sync issues? Some reviewers have mentioned they have experienced it would wind me up

Had one instance of lip sync. But turning on and off sorted it. Ensure you update firmware. No issues other than that

I have an LG C9, it’s not too bad on the native apps, but it does have sync issues on Sky Q. I read reviews before I bought it that mentioned this. Still not sure whether I’m going to keep it, as it seems to fluctuate between being ok, to sometimes being way out - depends on the sound setting used I think.

That being said, the sound quality is very good, very loud, clear vocals, decent bass. Hope that helps!
Noticed a slight lip sync issue on Live tv before the update, couldn’t tell if its still the same after the update as I rarely watch live tv. But no issues using netflix and amazon etc
How is refurbished better then "like new" on Amazon? If it's like new it's often not even taken out.of the box

Yes it is. They changed the name that's why you only see 4 reviews. Reviews must have been very poor.

Switch the sub on? Doesn't it automatically come on when you put the soundbar on?

Unfortunately not. Sometimes I forget I have one, because I can't be bothered to switch it on everytime the remote doesn't stay where the TV remote is so have to look for it or once I'm sat down I can't be asked to get up again and then I'm thinking why do I have it plugged in eating electricity if I'm not using it, so I switch it on when I need it usually for movies. I need one that just powers on when the TV is on.

That completely sucks... Not sure why theyd design it where you have to manually put the sub on. Probably not going to buy this for that fact alone

What do you mean? You leave the sub switched on all the time, and by switching the soundbar on and off, it'll also switch the sub on an off?
Thanks for the replies on the lip sync issues, will bear it in mind

Was in John Lewis this morning chatting to a Sony tell and he seemed to think the lip sync issues will not be as much of a problem if using optical or hdmi however, like all of you have mentioned, depends on the audio source

Those Sony oled 4k TV's are something though, was using one for demo purposes and got distracted from the real reason I was there

It's not actually, I did some research before I bought my TV from Centres Direct and noted that the following is on the website footer:

© 2020 CENTRES DIRECT (OPERATED BY CEFA-SOFT LIMITED ON BEHALF OF UK SONY CENTRE OPERATORS)

THIS WEBSITE IS OWNED AND OPERATED BY INDEPENDENT RETAILERS WHO TRADE AS SONY CENTRES UNDER LICENCE FROM SONY EUROPE LTD. ALL SALES ARE WITH THE SONY CENTRES DIRECTLY AND NOT WITH SONY EUROPE LTD

......so appears to be a consortium of dealers that operate as franchisees (I imagine) and not Sony themselves. That being said, I would use them again and had no issues with my TV purchase, next day delivery, item was brand new and has been fine.

So I set it up.

Pros.

No lip sync on live TV (not Sky)
No lip sync on Netflix or other LG apps
Major imorovement on TV Sound
Bass is good quality
Easy to setup with optical lead (provided)

Cons

Some sound settings are really poor
No display is annoying.
Couldnt get HDMI arc to work (will try again)

Will keep it for now and see how it fares over the weekend and then decide.

I didnt buy it from centres direct as I got it brand new from amazon (in case ppl are wondering about the condition of it)
Bought one, thanks OP. Lets hope it serves the job for my 75 inch TV
So I have had no success in setting up the HDMI arc with my LG 55B8....

And would need to connect optical lead for sound and HDMI to HDMI 4 to get the menu on screen....
