I was just thinking about listing this tv, but I was torn between the one in the deal above and the
Philips 55PUT4900 55 Inch 4K Ultra HD Freeview HD TV @ Argos which is £449.
So I will throw the Philips into the mix,as they are a bit different, and hopefully people can get some good deals
argos.co.uk/v1/…htm?

Update, it appears I was beaten to this deal too X)

Anyway some great tv deals about clearly X)

How about £446 in pristine condition only box damage.
Thats a great deal... and an good option for 5 year cover for a bit extra.

This seems to the best deal for a 49 inch Tv with HDR and future proof. In addition Kodi can be loaded onto it +4 HDMI.

Extremely tempted as lost out on recent order with AO for same tv - went OOH.
Someone please help should I get the Tv in this deal or the Panasonic TX-50CX680B? Budget is £600 just want something to watch sky tv on mainly sports not playing any games on it

The Sony is not HDR. Though great price for good telly heat. Word of warning though these older Android TV's have been having alot of bother and you will need to update the firmware straight away. (link below)

Thanks for correction.

I've been glaring at that many specs myself it's easy to start getting dyslexic with model numbers, the X85xx series is HDR though. I'm trying to hold off to find a 3D panel along these lines. 3D panels generally have far lower lag than non-3d panels.

Worth reading through the thread on that Phillips.

I thought it was a bit poo and sent mine back.

Opinions on the extra 5 year warranty at £76?

Does this run Kodi from the built in apps?
JoesephWoodworth

Anyone know how many USB ports are on it?

4, according to the Q&As.
"it has 4 HDMI and one is an HDMI ARC for connection of a soundbar or equivalent device"

Yes.

Just don't try to overload it with Add-ons.

This or is it worth spending the extra to get the LG 49UF850V?
brookysm

Yes.

Although I really would advise reading around alot of forums (like Avforums). It's been very widely reported that this first attempt on android on the 2015 range was plagued and still is with issues. I'd been keeping an eye on it myself as really liked the idea but really got put off with all the issues. Kodi on several forums all report stuttering even on 1080p and zero hope of Kodi 4K (when ran as an app on the tv). The link from my comment earlier even shows issues with Netflix on Sony's own firmware site right upto last week (8th March issue - 12th April fix). Reports also of Amazon offering customers partial refunds rather than taking massive returns on the tv (hence the dramatic price drops recently). Seems Philips gets better reviews regarding the android experience. Personally I think we are still abit far away from good android experience builtin and my search continues for a better panel focusing away from inbuilt apps etc as content to use my shield for that.

All TV's with built-in Android TV are poor at running apps, the Sony's firmware is much improved now but the problem is lack of processing power and more importantly storage and ram.

Yes, kodi is available on the google play store, so just a matter of click to install.
Received mine last night, setup took a while with a firmware update being available. Navigating around the Android menu took a little getting used to and it froze once, but since then it’s been flawless with Kodi installation being quick and 1080p videos from Kodi playing perfectly. Sound is surprisingly good and picture quality to me seems amazing (tested with 4k videos on YouTube). The TV looks smart and has more features than I can remember. I was deciding between this and the LG 49UF850V but seems little in it and for £100 less…. The Sony has got to be the better TV imo.

Where's that?
I got this TV a few months when they dropped it to this price on a flash sale and if you have student discount it goes down to £474. It's a great TV. Very occasionally you have restart but only happened 3 times. Have updated the software and all works good. Amazon prime app works great get all the 4k content and YouTube is good too. My kids are happy too playing games on it as well. Sound not great but ok. buy a soundbar if fussy and your sorted.

That is outdated info

The android is fixed now with updates, i have brought one of these tv's 3 weeks ago and it is fantastic! Anybody looking for a TV would be crazy not to go for this.......its a great deal, great price and a top TV with excellent picture and the added bonus of Android (which works perfectly)

Not sure about that to be honest, i think you need to sit down infront of one of these TV's after all the latest firmware updates, they are amazing value for the price. The picture quality is so sharp and defined and the Android runs very smoothly now

I dont think NUS discount is working anymore, i went on live chat, they said to purchase and they will refund discount amount (5%)
Looks very decent and certainly considering as a replacement to my 46" Panny plasma.
Built in Freesat, decent gaming lag times, and a good price - hope it's still around this in a months time when I have a bit of extra cash.
Just got mine from tesco online for £479 using the code TDX-HYW3 stock is low though. Hope this helps someone

I purchased from John Lewis initial price was £629 but they price matched Tesco at £499 with 5-year guarantee. I've got 28-days to claim the price match.

OK there are some in pristine condition but also SOME with scratches at the same price - just letting people know to read the descriptions carefully as they are not all the same for warehouse deals!
