This is crazy price!

reviews dont look great

Great price for a great Panel...sadly crippled with an unfinished badly implemented version of Android...

Does it do 60Hz over HDMI?

Very tempted by this but cant find any reviews of it at all.

I couldn't care less about the smart features. Heat.

Tempted but all my research has been towards the x850, so not sure what the difference is. Even then I think I will wait for the promised updates to fix the niggles to materialise first before taking the plunge, still hot from me

I've got the 49" version of this reserved at richer sounds (£700) but they don't have a unit available to demo and there's very little information about it online.

the only things I can see different are the KD55X8005 has Direct LED and motion flow XR 200Hz whereas the KD55X8509 has edge LED and motion flow XR1000Hz.

Can someone with knowledge tell me what these mean and if I bought the 200Hz motion flow tv will this not be good enough for watching football etc

SORRY MISSED THIS EARLIER, ALSO NOTED THAT THE KD55X8509 HAS THE TRILUMINOS DISPLAY the KD55X8005 does not

Direct LED means that the Black's tend to be better and the picture more uniformed. Edge lighting can tend to bloom in the corners in certain circumstances.

Either would be just fine for football.

Can one buy additional warranty how is customer care like with Amazon and its quidco cash back available on lightning deals cheers

I think that is the wrong model

I couldn't care less about the smart features. Heat.

No avoiding them on Sony Android TV's. the whole TV runs using Android to underpin. Great if it's implemented well...but if it's not then all the TV functionality is affected ......slow channel changing, buggy audio output etc, missing features etc.....

That review is for the KD-55X85 which is quite a different model with higher spec.

which is a good 4k equivalanet to this>

Its incredibly unclear, the lack of information on this tv i think is too much for me to say yes to it and for that reason, im out.

Quidco and Beat My Price?

I been put off from Sony TV after I got two which had serious problems. Replaced bedroom and living room TV with Samsung. Panels on Samsung screen are top notch

It is UHD.

Looks like a good deal, but if it uses Android for its user interface then it's a crap buy. AH I read the description, this is using Android. STAY CLEAR! You have been warned.

Beat my price couldn't beat this price

200 hz is pretty slow for a new tv - currys have higher spec deals with 5 years warranty for £1000 ish

no reviews at all

This link although it states the tv model in question actually takes you to another Sony tv spec

This is a lower version of the X85, this X80 is a 50hz panel and slightly cheaper bezel.

cancelling my order as this TV is not getting the much anticipated HDR update on 13th October. Screw Sony

Sony Android TV needs work - but luckily the TVs are so capable, as long as Sony develop their Android release further, then all of the kinks will be worked out in updates...

i have read an article which states 4k has no benefit over 1080p unless u are sitting closer than 6m to the tv
