£879 at PRCdirect with free 5yr warranty, standard delivery free.

Both are good prices for different reasons.

agree with you
does this have freesat?
Prices are coming down to make way for the next big thing - HDR TV
yes to freesat. This was £699 twice on amazon lightning deals. The upscaling is by far the best I have ever seen. I have 100's of rips on my pc and this upscales them to 4k and they look miles better than they did on my old bravia full hd lcd. Quality upscaling is SO important as most of what we watch is at lower resolution than this TV is capable of.

Youview doesnt work with satellite input by the way. You can pop mobdro, wss, kodi, showbox, movieHD etc onto this TV, in fact any android app can be installed on here

If you regard 3D or curved screen as a gimmick and just want a large panel with great picture and really powerful smart TV functions then this is a worthy contender

Waiting on 65".... anyone seen anything?
Surely as it has been 699 twice recently it is likely to drop again? Cold from me just wait a few weeks

The model on offer at Currys is the X85 not the X80. the key differences being the x85 has a 100hz panel compared to 50hz meaning much-improved handling of motion/ motion clarity. It also has Sonys tri-luminous technology which improves colour reproduction and is capable of showing HDR material(Samsung call it nano crystal). extra; metal finish and free sound bar worth £99. The X80 has been designed so it can compete on price point at least with Samsung's 6 Series models which also have 50hz and no HDR capabilities.

I personally think your correct and its 1000hz, but £100 is a £100.
Go for the Panasonic cx802b cost more but is a much better tv
is it freesat though or just a satellite tuner? from what I can find out it isn't freesat. Cheers.

You want 3D instead of 4k? Wow. Have you actually seen a 4k picture? It's amazing.

Why? I'm looking at getting 4k in time for Crimbo.. I'm obviously waiting to see what Black Friday brings but don't know what to look out for when buying..

After this thread , i decided to go into currys and take a look at this "49" " and the samsung curved 1080p tv of the year J6300-400.

Obviously the sony looked amazing with the 4k demo , so i asked him to try a 1080p feed.So he clicked on the first cat video youtube offered and the quality was still brilliant. Although i think the tv has IPS panel which doesnt work so well in direct sunlight (my living room has blinds).

The samsung had a much chunkier chassis and the 1080p feed wasnt at all impressive , i cant understand why its won the award.

Anyway my mind is made up , this sony on black friday will be a bargain.
This TV has been on lightning deals (twice at least) at £699, so I would probably wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday unless you want the 5 yr guarantee from JL.
Excellent Picture quality and with the latest sw updates many of the android issues have been resolved.

Have to disagree.
Used this to replace a 46 Panny plasma.
The 4K picture (youtube via wireless - which works really well) is absolutely incredible.
Side by side comparison of sky hd there is marked difference in quality on a screen that's 20% bigger.
A non hd sky channel shows an even more marked improvement.

If your 1080p source looks better on your new telly (at, say, 8ft away) that is irrespective of the extra pixel count. You'd probably see a better image on most top brand 2015 model HD tvs over your old one.

This is going to be £743.98 inc VAT from Monday in Costco. Worth a purchase?
I was wondering the same thing. If this deal is currently 274 degrees at £899 then over £150 off, plus the Costco 5 year warranty, would be a no brainer.
Seems a good buy that Costco offer, even adding the £30 to become a member leaves you well quids in.

Any Tv guru's out there got an answer for these...

How come this and the 49" version, both 2015 models, have Motionflow 200Hz when other Sony's have a way higher Hertz? ie: Sony 50W807C 900Hz, Sony 55X8509C 1000Hz, Sony 50W807C 900Hz, Sony 50W805C 800Hz to name a few.

What impact does the lack of Sony's Triluminos technology have on these two with regards to pq?

Hello mate, Sony KD-55X8005C was reduced in todays Amazon Light.. deal £599, was wondering if you can shed some review? how was blacks and the picture quality. Does any lags with Android OS? have you successfully update new firmware? Any comment on Games with this TV (Via PC or PS/xbox)?

Thank you
