Great .will fire the usual time machine up to buy one.
If you're happy to pay an extra £150 for it then go ahead.
Is this like lg c9?

Be careful, they don't accept returns at the moment for TVs bigger than 43", so if anything goes wrong you'll be stuck with it until the shops reopen.

Similar picture quality, but if you're going to do any gaming on it, run for a C9. The input lag on these is absolutely terrible for gaming, and it has a painfully slow and underpowered Android system on it.
I have the 65" XG9505 which I choose over this model (due to price). It was considered the better of the 2 for gaming due to lag. The picture on AG was better (as it should be for the £1900 price tag) but not by much. Sound was in a different league and best I have even experienced on a TV. New tech which makes the whole screen a speaker.

As for "underpowered android system" comment that seems to be peddled out on all Sony posts this is not true. Maybe for the older models. But I can assure you he android system on my TV is fantastic and I cannot fault. The voice input /search feature is particulary impressive. I`m not normally a fan but so quick and accurate
Yeah, Android is fine on Sony TVs these days. The processor is more than strang enough. The only slight slowdown is when you first switch on TV, but we're talking ten or so seconds..

On a separate point, if you want to next gen game on your TV, go for the c9 lg.
I went for this deal when it was 1249. The TV is excellent. It replaced an LG OLED from about 3 years ago and I have to say its a much better experience. You can install Kodi directly on the TV.
A TV i was looking at was £499 now its £849.
Also a speaker unit I bought has gone up from £74 to £129.

I’ll second that. I’m into my third week now with a great big box, with a broken screened (as delivered) TV inside. No TV, no money, don’t know when or indeed if it will ever get resolved.
I bought this a few weeks ago. Love the tv but it keeps rebooting. Spoke to their support department who suggested turning off certain apps but he said the android system will reboot the tv around twice a week to install updates. Anyone else have this issue. I had a 55 LG oled and it updated twice in two years and asked me before it did so.

I have the 49” set but it’s not working, long story, waiting to be returned.
As a replacement I’m now also considering the Samsung Q70 series, anyone know which is the more ‘user is friendly’? Sony or Samsung UI. Sony appears to have the edge on Picture Quality.
Would it not make sense to buy LG b9 for same price instead of buying refurbished item?

I bought one in the last batch at £1249. I put it up on the wall and tried to set it up. It kept on turning on and off again - about 20 times in a couple of hours. On the couple of occasions it managed to stay running for more than a few minutes it crashed and had to be rebooted when I opened up one of the catch up apps (e.g. All4). This happened several times.

Annoyingly the courier that Sony Centre use are doing no collection of returns at the moment so I have a very expensive shelf in my hallway until they come and get it. It is one thing to be aware of if you have to buy anything that needs to get sent back (Argos have the same issue - I have an actual shelf that needs to go back as well).

The only plus side is it prompted me to experiment with turning off Youview on my existing 55" Sony LED and to install catch-up apps via sideloading. Wow - what an improvement in performance of the TV guide and apps.

I share your frustration on this. I’m similarly affected already posted it on the Forum. Into my third week with a great big box occupying my lounge. TV damaged on delivery (broken screen) they can’t tell me when, if ever, this is going to be collected.
They have my money I don’t have a working TV.

Hi. It was on the latest firmware and actually wouldn’t have stayed on long enough to update anyway.
