Cheapest seen this is at curry's for 479, I have brought 4 tvs from here over the last 3 years all grade a, plus brough many speakers to, not all things are cheap but you do get some good bargains
wow excellent, thanks for posting this - I just ordered one - I've been looking at this model or the identical 8196 and was pondering whether it would drop from £479 (Currys) over next few days or whether to go to Richersounds / Sony stores to get it for £530 with a 5 year warranty.

£349 is super cheap, hopefully it'll come through in good condition.

Currys price won't change the 8196 and xg80 same model, for 349 you can't go wrong it will normally come in brown box and they repackaged and refurbished by Sony themselves from there Weybridge headquarters. The receipt will normally have the details off a Sony centre, but this is not where the tv comes from, this is just for you to contact someone if you ever need help for the product, Sony just give them a little commission on the sale.
Thank you. I just bought one too. I was waiting for John Lewis or Richer Sounds to make a signoficant reduction on their new models, so I could get the 5year warranty. But for a £170-ish saving, especially with this TV coming from Sony themselves, I'll take a risk!
Excellent deal I bought few sony gear from Sony refurb

Will look at buying this model

My thoughts entirely, I liked the idea of long warranty but saving £130 vs Currys new price which also has a 1 year guarantee or £178 vs Richer Sounds / John Lewis with 5/6 year warrany was too big a saving to ignore.

If anything were to go wrong it would normally be psu or power capacitors, as this Sony uses a external psu, which is basically a 19v 6a amp laptop charger, there only about 30 pounds if ever needed. Unlike Samsung and LG the psu board is built in making lot more difficult

Good point, although I dislike external power supplies from a neat and tidy point of view, plus they sometimes run hot, in this case you're right that if the TV fails it's often the power supply which in this case is easy to diagnose and replace.

This deal really should be hot but sadly people only seem interested in bargain basement TVs and don't always appreciate the better quality ones!

Yes all your points correct, Evan this tvs x reality pro engine will blow most tvs out the water for picture quality, people don't appreciate quality over quantity. Yeah this should be hot at 349, you get 32 inch tvs at this price, and your getting 4k Android, with voice assistant.
Looks like that one's gone. The 49" is still available.

I would brought the 49 inch but don't have space in the bedroom as the wall I'm on mounting is just enough for the 43 inch, the 49 is bargain that wouldn't been my 1st choice
Anyone know what it's like for gaming?? (the 49inch model)

They're normally quite good and have game mode, my 2016 and 2018 Sony tvs I have don't seems to have notable lags when playing ps4
Mine's scheduled for delivery Monday, thanks OP
