Looks sweet for the money, 4k so future proof.

Im deciding between this and hotukdeals.com/dea…224 which isnt 4k, i dont know if i really want or need 4k as i dont have any device that can play 4k at the moment.
No HDR support so maybe not all that future proof?
Some Poor reviews on John Lewis website but seems a good price. Could be worth a gamble
Isn't this 100hz

Utter rubbish.
Was reading the specs and its 8cm deep/thick which is a put off for me.
The 50inch non 4k Panasonic set on hukd right now is only 4.9cm.

Maybe a lot of the 4k sets are fat, but i would prefer it to be much thinner.

Yeah, because thickness really is an important spec to consider when purchasing a TV. They're so thin these days as it is what does it matter? What do you plan to do? Carry it in your pocket?

Of course it is. When you look at a phone, dont you want to see how thin it is?

When the tv is sitting on my tv cabinet, it must look sexy, razor thin like most tv's are nowadays. 4.7cm to 8cm is a big difference to me, thats 3.7cm of nasty bulk that just doesn't need to be there. Imagine wall mounting it, do you want it sticking out an extra 3.7cm, i certainly dont. Your standards are obviously lower than mine :-)

I have 2x 3D & 1x 4k Sony Androids and they just keep getting better and better as you update them and the latest was this week. Did Sony rush to release Android TVs ? I guess so but there constantly being updated so can't complain as I am happy with how they are and how Sony is listening to its customers keeping the system updated.

Quick Q. Android TV. Is it something to use with Android phones only, or is mobile OS irrelevant?

phone irrelevant. It means its got android operating system on the tv, so you can use play store to download apps/games and sideload things, basically it opens the tv up to a lot of possibilites by using apps.
E.G. you could install the sky news app, or TED apps, and control them easily using the tv remote etc on the big screen.

I have never had a sony android tv myself, does it run kodi well or is it laggy? Whats the processor in these things like to say an amazon fire stick, and what memory do they have or can you insert an sd card?

Sounds fun!
this should be roasting hot. if only I had a
Costco within a hundred miles
Best thing about Android TVs is the fact you can install Kodi without the need for an Android box! Well worth the money - i have the 55" 3D version of this TV. Stunning.

So I have neither android or apple mobile. I suppose that means what I get on the TV is it?
Has anyone got any info about HDR on this TV? I've tried google, but I don't get anything relevant.

Android TV doesn't need your phone, doesnt matter if you don't even have a phone.

If you have ever had android phone before and put apps on it then this TV is like that, you can get to app store on in and instalk apps/games just like you do with your phone. Just Google Android TV box, this bt does the same thing but instead of a separate android TV box it has this hardware already built in.

Did you put kodi on it, if so can you use the remote to control things or do you have to get a separate mouse/keyboard?

Is it speedy enough?

And where do the apps install to, does it have inbuilt memory or can you put an sd card in?

Thanks
2 things, I bet it's 10cm thick with the stand and I bet it's quite a thin tv. Also I can't find it on the Costco website, is it in store only?

Limited colour gamut. It does not have a 10 bit panel. It does not meet ultra HD premium specifications. You will not find a TV at this size and price that incorporates such features yet. This is a budget set.

This has an extra 2 HDMIs and 2 extra USBs which I would be happy to give another 4cm for

Possibly the single most comment epitomising society nowadays. I suppose your screen background/wallpaper would be you posing for a selfie with a huge trout pout. And don't forget your scent for when that second-favourite person in your life calls round. X)
I've got Kodi on it with normal remote but struggling to get apps to show in the repositories for some reason, they are all blank. Succeeded in my fire stick do know how to do it, must be the Tv blocking it somehow.

You're like the unwanted heckler at a Donald Trump rally.
Bought the 55" version of this on the Amazon Boxing Day deal. Great set when it was working but glitchy as hell, I was on the verge of sending it back until the latest android update this week. Now buttery smooth, Sony seem to have nailed the os issues. Glad I kept it :-)
Is the price inc delivery?

no problems with mine. Mayer reinstall it.
Got this same model on the Amazon deal a couple of weeks ago, had to send it back as the consistent freezes and crashes were a joke. Updates didn't help. There's a lot of other people with the same issue which is why they are being sold off so cheap. I've noticed that Amazon have deleted all the recent bad reviews saying the same thing so be warned. If you can live with that then also be warned don't get it if you watch any sd channels, as the picture is almost unwatchable. Shame as the hd and 4K picture was lovely.
Just to be clear, is costco collection only or do they deliver (on TVs? /i suppose they must if its online), I can't find the del charges.

Got the 55" as well but the update hasn't improved my experience, if anything its a lit worse. Incredibly slow response from the remote, have to keep reinstalling apps and factory resets...so bad! Picture is lovely but when it takes 45 minutes to log in to Amazon Prime I've kinda lost the will to watch the damn thing! John Lewis have agreed to take it back and swop for a Samsung

Sure they did.

i have this TV, very good quality and lovely functionality
This is a basic 4k set I would spend the extra and go for the 49' x8507 if you can find a good deal on it.
