Absolute bargain, brought the xe 49 8004 for 549 in May, excellent TV and also has been updated with Google assistant voice control, the trimllious display makes a difference very sharp and vivid realistic picture

Actually no I haven’t I will try that tip cheers!
I bought this tv a few months back. It has excellent image quality in regards to bright scenes (due to IPS), but in dark scenes it really gets troublesome. Blacks look more charcoal than they do black which is one of the major downsides to this tv. In addition to this the overall interface, at least for me, is painfully slow. Doing simple things like changing the volume can take a few seconds to react. Generally an overburden internal chip that might not have proper cooling. Things like Netflix work great and fluid. The 4K + HDR are really good at this price point. It has HLG and HDR10 HDR formats. I would have to disagree though that this tv is fully HDR compliant which is something I didn't realise until more recently. The trouble is this tv doesn't have high lumens to support HDR pre-formatted around 1,000 lumens. From what I've researched with HDR active it peaks around 450 lumens.

With that said these are small prices to pay for the price factor of this tv, although things to consider if you intend to have this tv for quite a few years to come.

Same site as this deal, using same code brings it down to 399, I think.
Ended up going for the Panasonic at £399.20. From what I could see theres not that much between them but the main differences that I could find are wider viewing angles on the Sony (IPS panel) at the cost of not-as-good black levels. I also had a personal preference for the Panasonic's base. And its £30 cheaper and slightly larger. Still a good deal on a good tv.

Tell me about it. I have it too and you need to wait a good few seconds before the tv responds to the remote

Did disabling YouView speed up the tv? Considering this model but put off them comments on being slow. Thanks

Is this with or without YouView? Just want to check that it runs ok ish with YouView disabled seeing it’s the only solution to speed up the tv. Thanks
