Great picture and easy set up.
Very tidy. Nice spot @Ekimos and welcome to HUKD.
I know the cashback isn't definite but this is available from argos if you buy it with a Samsung soundbar it's £703.99p with £200 cashback direct from Samsung, unless I'm mistaken, just thought it was worth mentioning 😋
Obviously nearly double the price but how does this compare with 55XE9005?

Pretty poorly, as you might expect. It has a 60Hz panel, no local dimming and a low peak brightness of ~350 nits. It's not really an HDR TV at all, beyond being able to accept the signal (but neither is anything else at this price). However, it'll make a perfectly good, perhaps even great TV for SDR viewing. Sony's upscaling and motion handling is better than any other manufacturer's. I'd also take it over the 8005 any day, since this uses a VA panel rather than IPS and thus has very good black levels (in SDR mode anyway).

Thankyou very much for the reply.. Its so difficult now to choose the right tv. I will also be using it for gaming so would i be better paying the extra in your opinion?

I'd say try and see HDR in person on a high end screen in a shop and see how much difference you think it makes. If you really like it, the XE90 is currently the best option much cheaper than an OLED. If not, a TV like this would serve you just fine. Personally, I could easily live without it for most content. It's also worth remembering that the vast majority of stuff out there is currently SDR, including most games. Though I'd say gaming's probably the area where I appreciate impactful HDR the most. Some (like Horizon: Zero Dawn) do make good use of it.
is this wifi?

Just search on hukd for 55" 4k you will find loads, much lower than this model
There is no such thing as a LED TV.

This is a LCD TV with a LED backlight.

There is a hisense 4K 55 inch with HDR being sold for quite cheap (around £450) that is listed on here somewhere. Also John Lewis have the 49” model for £399 but there is one listed by clearance world on eBay brand new I think: rover.ebay.com/rov…419
