Same here. But just having second thoughts to go for OLED if my reward comes through from Clydesdale. Otherwise this is the one I'm looking out on Black Friday.

Expecting good deal on black friday. Fingers crossed

waiting for it to hit £1000 mark

This is probably a stupid question but does anyone do OLED for 49 or 50 inch tvs? i can only find them for 55+ which i can't fit in... This seems the best tv i could get in my size range

Is this a 8bit + FRC RGBW or a 10bit full RGB model? Is the input lag low or High? Does it support a wide colour gamut and High Contrast?

Asking for a friend.

Ive heard bad things about "cheap" OLED so I dont know whether to go for LED to get a higher spec?!?!

same issue here, can't fit a 55 inch in my lounge. Searching out there and I cannot find a 49 OLED either, not sure if likely to come on the market tbh... the Sony 49XE9005 and Samsung QE49Q7fam are probably the best sub 50 inch tvs on the market. But happy for other suggestions!

Cracking tv and the one i'm after but think i'm going to hold off until Black Friday or January sales.

Also, its currently cheaper at Currys, only £1100 with free Sony C290 wireless Soundbar, 5yr warranty & free delivery using the FREECT290 promo code. It may be a glitch as the code seems to deduct the cost of the sound bar even if you dont add one to your basket? See below:32432899-iO9K3.jpg

This is even better. How did you manage to get the code?

Sadly only 55+ .

Thought so, probably a good thing for me though, started off with a figure of £650/700 for a 4k tv and slowly after reading reviews i've ended up wanting this £1200 tv! OLEDs would have pushed me even further

Did you mean £1100 without the soundbar? Or am I doing something wrong?!

Nope. LG.Display (the only OLED TV panel maker) are opening a new production line in 2018/2019 so smaller OLEDs are expected in the 2020 models.

It's not RGBW and I've no idea if it's using dithering, it doesn't matter. This has the best local dimming system available at sub-55" and the second widest colour gamut after the Q7. You won't find a better HDR TV without going up to 55".

Input lag like all TVs at the moment is low.

Really good reviews out there which answer all those questions.

That’s 55” diagonally through the corners. The actual width would be around 49”. Apologies if you already know this

It was bait for endlesswaves

use code save 100 and get it for £1195 with soundbar at best av deals and 5 year sony warranty

Super hot deal!!! I have been eyeing the 49" model and that was or still is £1199 for God knows how long!

Got this tv through the co-op deal the other week. Can highly recommend it , it replaced a 55B7 oled , which I hated ( yes , I realise I’m probably the only one who hates that tv!).

Make it fit!!!

Why this over an LG Oled?

i guess there would be a big risk the voucher would be later rejected and full price charged.

Aren’t Appliances Direct offering the free soundbar included for that price?

The Curry’s glitch looks interesting but I’d be worried that wouldn’t be honoured.

John Lewis will price match within 28 days so buy it now with their price match at £1150 as last I checked it comes with a £200 sound bar. Then if it lowers again in a week go back with receipt for more money off

I am also looking at the same LG OLED, what has this Sony tv got over the OLED?

I'm not sure the picture improvement would be as noticeable at that size, maybe a high end 1080p would be better? Really to properly show off 4k a 55 or 65 is gorgeous.

Why this over an LG Oled?

LG OLED is around £1700, so this is a fair bit cheaper.

In terms of image quality (especially for those who own plasmas), I think OLED is the only upgrade path. LCD TVs like that listed in this thread, could be seen as a downgrade, by some plasma owners.
The problem with OLED though, is the cost. £1700 is a lot of money to spend on a TV.

I've asked JL to price match but doesn't the warranty have to be the same too?

They’ve been £1500 this week with 5 year warranty so expect this sort of money on Black Friday I reckon

The judder and motion blur I found to be really bad on the lg. It's well documented online that the lg isn't great with motion or judder especially on a interlaced source like sky. The Sony is buttery smooth on everything you throw at it. Picture isn't quite as good as the oled but you won't be disappointed should you go with the Sony.

Excellent but I want 3D. It was decent on my Panny plasma but its meant to be even better on 4k sets. Very tempting though.

Yes I know, but I've had price matches refused before from John Lewis if the warranty isn't like for like! (I couldn't see anything on the Appliances Direct website about a 5 year warranty!)

Either way it's a moot point because JL have accepted the price match so I'm going to hang-fire until Black Friday to see if they come down further and if not the price match is valid for 28 days! Result!
