Do richer sounds price beat these?
Potentially £1069 with them if so.
Heat.

I wasn't checking this model during black friday. Did it come anywhere near this price. CamelCamel is saying £1218.99 as the lowest its been.

I have been waiting for the LG OLED B7/C7 to drop to the £1000 mark. But I am not convinced its going to happen.

I was waiting for the LG oled to be sub 1000 as well but it settled at 1350 with currys and then went back up to 1400 - 1500 mark

Yup wasn’t enough of a drop for me. Especially when the E7 days before had been slashed to 1500. Hmmmmm it’s either this, the QE55Q6 or wait until the Boxing Day sales! Tough choice!

I just went for the QE55Q6 with the free soundbar at currys... Heres hoping I made the right choice 👌

I bought it for £1200 in October from the Coop. Could have got it about £1050 3 weeks later during the Coop sale. Good price though, it’s a great telly. Best non-OLED going in my opinion. I just want ready to fork out a couple of grand and suffer screen burn at this stage of OLED

That's what put me off the oled range.
I think a few people got the e7 price matches at £1500 and a potential £500 cashback from LG. If it's honoured then bargain.
It's the age old quandary though, buy now and be upset when it hits £1000.
Wait till it hits £1000 and be put off because new sets will be announced.....

How are you finding the TV?
I'm waiting for the xe90 to hit £1000 and going for it

I don’t think you need to worry about Burn in. I’m certainly not an expert but looking at some reviews on YouTube who specifically caused Burn in on their sets by leaving it on for 20hrs straight with a high contrast image, got rid of it completely in 24-48hrs. Their conclusion was essentially that yes you can get Burn in. But for the average user it’s unlikely to be a problem, and just don’t leave your tv paused and go shopping. I am pretty sold on this set, it’s just deciding whether or not to pull the trigger now or wait until post x mas.

Probably the best LCD TV you can get now.

Still too many unknowns on OLED and the fact that LG (not sure about Sony) refuse to back the tech by not including burn in for their warranties is quite telling.

If i didn't game for hours and hours at a time, i would be getting a B7.

My mate had his delivered from Currys today but he games 2-3 hours max at a time. So i had no qualms in recommending him the B7.

Best TV for value for sure but its not the best, the higher end model 9305 and Z9D is better but much more expensive

Far too much conflicting information out there about burn in on OLED. Users reporting burn in from normal use, users reporting no burn in from extended gaming sessions.
I'll wait to get on with OLED in around 4/5 years when it's been refined.

Yes but I've been waiting since August to buy a TV . Hopefully I get a good deal.

Is FALD worth the extra on this model over the xe85? I'm on my way to RS to look at them side by side but I can't get the xe85 for less than 700. I know this is a step up but is it 300 quid better?

Depends if you want/need full array local dimming. It's certainly capable tech but will depend how sensitive you are to the picture anomalies you can get without out it.

Yeah fair enough, it's hard to say tbh without having tried both. I've never seen a fall array local dimming set let alone compared side to side. Am I right in thinking that that's the main difference between this set and the xe85s? The reviews I've seen or the 85 also say the HDR isn't as bright so maybe there's that too but if I'm looking at £300 less I don't mind that at all.

That’s exactly my stance, I know OLED is a better tech, I’m just waiting for a couple of years until all the stories die down and it’s matured.

The Sony is a great Tv, no complaints about it at all. The only negative about it in my opinion is the android tv os. I don’t use it though, I’ve got Plex and the Xbox through it and that’s all I use it for. Got the Samsung sound bar set up through the hdmi arc and it all works fine. Recognises it no problem at all.

Just had my richer sounds price match this. He said £1079 on the phone to me and will save and honour the deal for me to collect tomorrow. Very good customer service once again from RS. I will see if they give the £-20 price beat that they state on the website. Either way I’m not fussed. 1 year more warranty and great customer service from RS awaits for the same price.

This is one of the best all round TVs you'll get other than the OLED stuff

I am surprised no one has moaned so far that it's not a 10 bit panel. It's an 8+2. It just goes to show that it's just a numbers game. What matters is how it performs. I've havemt read a bad review of this tv. Next year when it's rebranded then the price will drop even further. The 65 inch version almost got me a few months ago but a decided to stick with what I've got.

Great offer if HDR is important to you.

mark62269 h, 52 m ago

What does rebranding mean, and roughly when would you expect it?

BTW this offer has been extended to Tue.

Beware, this TV was top of my list until I came across this thread:
avforums.com/thr…39/
Basically the TV repeats frames when cutting scene during a fast panning motion. Most noticeable in shows like Strictly Come Dancing. My other half watches Strictly religiously!

And to top it off, I've just found out it doesn't support the new HDR BBC iplayer release of blue planet 2 because of the android OS:
