Explain to me brotheren, why are you going for this instead of OLED besides brightness or burn in?

This vs a potentially £2k LG OLED?

It's the burn in as this will be used also as pc monitor. I'm so on the fence as I've seen the LG oled in action and it's stunning.

OLEDs in this size start at a good £800 more. Anyone considering this model instead of an XE93 or ZD9 probably isn't in the market for a TV that expensive.

This is a similar brightness to OLEDs, maybe even a bit less bright.

For me what kills the oled, as crazy as it sounds is the lack of legacy connections, it's Hdmi only. I have a large games collection n want to be able to play some older consoles on a large tv (I do understand they will look horrendous). Ideally I would have a big CRT for older consoles but don't have the room at the moment. So I'm hoping for a cheap 65 xe9005. Also screen burn.

Oled is the way to go.

A lot of people buying the 55" oled will be sitting too far away to even gain the benefit of the 4k resolution. You really need to be less than 6 feet away otherwise it's no better than 1080p. Ideally I'd have a 65" oled as, at 7 feet viewing distance, it's the perfect size for full 4k benefits. With the 65" oled out my price range, it leaves this t.v. as the next best option!

Interesting point...I'm about 10-11 feet away and I'm getting a 65" (from 55") and was considering an OLED if I can get one for £2k or something like this. What would you recommend?

Thanks

The 65 inch LG B7/C7 Oled should be down close to £2k on black Friday. Great TV.

It does sound crazy, why is buying a couple of converter boxes for under a hundred quid a big deal when you're spending £1500 on a TV?

Yeah but a 65 oled isn't going to be £1500. It's for my bedroom n a 55 wouldn't be worth it for how far away I am from it. Was just trying to show a different reason for not wanting one apart from just screen burn. Should've said I can't afford it first . Good chance I won't be buying any tv as the Xe9005 is still a compromise in my eyes, might wait n see what next year offers.

A 65" would be even more, so that strengthens my argument.

Sorry that didn't make sense. What I meant was my budget is around £1500 so no 65 oled for me!

Fingers crossed mate. If they don't go that low though, what other 65" 4k would you recommend? You seem more informed that me! Thanks

If it's not an oled then the 65 inch XE90, as linked in this deal, is widely regarded as the best non oled you can get without breaking the bank. Would definitely go for the 65" xe90!

Not heard of TPS, worth getting it price matched with JL ?
