Enjoy your viewing in the finest detail with the breathtaking image quality of Sony's XF90. It combines the exceptional clarity of 4K resolution with the brilliant brightness and colour of HDR to give an amazingly lifelike picture. Powered by Sony's X1 Extreme 4K HDR processor, depth of field is startling and pin-sharp, while its TRILUMINOS display is beautifully colour-rich and realistic. Sony's suite of smart features on the Android platform opens up a wealth of extraordinary online content, and its sleek design makes it a supremely elegant addition to the home.

Stunning HDR Visuals
Sony are one of the forerunners of contrast and colour-boosting High Dynamic Range (HDR). As members of the UHD Alliance, they've delivered top-shelf HDR to deepen your view and show shades previously unseen in home entertainment. Expanding light, dark and every colour in between to extraordinary new levels, this model's picture gets closer to real life. This set supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision so whatever entertainment you're enjoying, you'll always get the full, glorious HDR treatment with pin-point accuracy.

4K Ultra High Definition
To respond to screens getting bigger, brands have packed their screens with more pixels. This 65” screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p Full HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.

Features:

X1 Extreme 4K HDR processor: Powering the display is Sony's supremely mighty processor for an image of utterly outstanding accuracy and realism, with 40% more processing power than the original X1 processor.

X-Tended Dynamic Range PRO: This TV has six times the brightness range of a standard LED TV (based on comparison with Sony conventional LED TVs without local dimming). Such a breadth of brilliant whites and deep, rich blacks achieves staggeringly realistic visual detail.

4K X-Reality Pro: Upscales non-4K content to reveal remarkable extra detail. It analyses every single pixel and improves contrast, colour and sharpness for increased clarity no matter what you're watching.

X-Motion Clarity: Keeps fast action smooth and clear with exceptionally precise control to minimise blur. The picture stays true to life with no loss in brightness. Perfect for fast action movies and sports.

TRILUMINOS Display: Expands the colour range way beyond conventional LED displays for a more lustrous image. This richer colour palate gets closer to real-life to make your viewing extraordinary.

Super-Smart Android Platform
Your Smart TV has just got smarter with Android. Developed by Google, you'll be able to enjoy seamless entertainment, intelligent search and the latest apps from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Video, Youtube and Google Play. Enjoy Chromecast built-in, letting you beam content from your smart phone straight to the big screen, Voice Search and explore hundreds of apps. Picture quality is really good, I found it miles better than Samsung and LG easily, most likely due to the post processing hardware.

Is this last year's mid range model? If so how does it compare to this year's mid range model?

It's really good, not quite as good as the xg95 but very similar. However, it's £500 cheaper than the xg95
Try price match from richer sounds and maybe longer guarantee

Have a look on RTings.com. I believe this was pretty much the top of the line Led from Sony last year. Great TV but as someone else mentioned I also seem to get a lot more visual satisfaction from OLEDs. However, for an Led this is an excellent buy and the XG95 only pips it ever so slightly but with an increased price tag. Also not sure as a user you would notice the difference side by side.

OOS :-(
£100 cheaper than John Lewis deal last week.

2018 version but very little change to the 2019
Great price for this model- especially compared to the X95. As for the "its not OLED" comments- that would explain why it is half the price. Having looked closely and the full Sony line up before buying I did not see a massive difference in the 2 screen types. The motion flow for sports and gaming better on the much cheaper LED. And no screen burn risk.
Now this is thee price iv been wanting
Best value TV I've seen this year.
Bargain bought six months ago for £1250.
Superb picture, Netflix Dolby Vision picture stunning.
Looking to see if it will fit on my tv stand. Apparently the tv is roughly 1.5m long but the feet are 3m apart...

You can buy a different stand to replace this one from a third party

I know this TV is highly rated but I owned it and had no end of problems with motion in sport and the Android OS. Eventually the TV refused to turn off unless I unplugged it and I got a refund. I’d say don’t get an Android Tv and yea OLED looks better

You didn't see a massive difference in the 2 screen types? Hmmm
This is a brilliant TV according to reviews, early this year I almost bought one for £1500 but went for the Samsung NU8000 at £1.1k for better input lag for games. At £900 it's a steal.

Nope. Had a very good demonstration in store and went back and forward. More expensive TV had the better picture but slightly worse motion. Couldn't justify spending the extra money based on what I saw.
Great TV but in built OS is awful so get a firestick or another device plugged into it.
Any one know how the viewing angles on this set are?
I have done extensive research on this TV. Colours look more natural than in other high end TVs. Blooming is an issue. No wide angle tech on this size. Motion is not as good as on the older model.

Yeah an OLED is the only worthwhile upgrade IMO, but hoping the Sammy lasts the 5 year warranty! And in a few years we should know whether games do cause screen burn or not 🏻
Sony TVs with the Linux OS is the one to avoid, hardly any supported apps.

True....if there are no issues like you say in a few years I will be like 'Take my money!!"

Usually you get the Samsung 5yr guarantee with the product once registered, its usually like that with most Samsung products. Also worth a mention, you can get 100 off if you go in Currys and speak with the Sony Rep. They have codes that they can use. I was looking at this set at 999 and he said he could take 100 of the price in store today.

Worth passing on.

Exactly spent 2hours in curry's last night and couldnt justify spending a grand on a new TV and the sales bloke kept running 4k demo videos which yes looked nice but not alot of difference in my 2 year old cheaper lg TV
He then went on to say I can get an oled for similar price and went on to say screen burn is no longer an issue even with channels that have a logo like sky news at that point I gave up and returned with my cash intact
Think really broadcasters should be outputting more HD stuff at least then most of these tellys will look nice all the time
Very laggy android on this

Don't go by in store demos, each manufacturer has catered them to their TV's. Plus these are all in demo mode and doesn't demostrate real at home viewing. You'd be better off taking something that you know looks good on a USB and trying them in store with demo modes off.
africanspeed21/12/2019 11:41

When these first come out with Android OS they were very very buggy, loads of issues of turning off, freezing in the menus, constant crashing, and a whole host of other issues. In the end it made the TV unusable. One of the main reasons these sold well is that you could side load Kodi on them (still can).

It's been over 5 years with Android OS and it seems it's still crap. They really need to do an in house OS.

Personally I think to this day you cannot beat the older Sony KDL-**W905 with it's Triluminos display.
Fantastic price

That's why they are called 'demo' videos. These are supposed to simulate "at home viewing experience". I like to speak to the sales reps at Currys as they seem to know more about the tellys and direction where tech is headed.
