I don't believe ANY 32" LCD TV should be over £400 these days, regardless of the manufacturer....
A year ago I bought an Elonex 32" LCD TV for £320, and the picture and build quailty are stunning.
Although Sony makes good kit, it's often overpriced just because it's a Sony.

Same price … Same price here:http://www.soundandvisiononline.com/moreinfo/index.asp?product_id=13482and you can get John Lewis to pricematch them. Then you get John Lewis's 5 year guarantee for free. For details of how to go about it see here:http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264343The pricematch table for LCD TVs is here:http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262433&page=499

John Lewis don't pricematch online stores.. so unless they have an actual shop then your out of luck.

JL are known to have price matched S&V on many occasions as they do have a shop.

I got a pricematch with Sound and Vision with this very TV 2 weeks ago so can confirm it is definately OK (as long as it's on display with thr price shown and in stock when you request the pricematch).

Yes it was this model, but JL have discontinued it now as it's due to be replaced with a new model in the next couple of months. The new one looks a bit different but the spec is very similar.

how does this compare to this LG … how does this compare to this LG model:http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/173561/lg-32lc56-32-hd-ready-lcd-380-deliv

I don't know, the best thing to do is go and find them in a shop and see for yourself. These things are fairly subjective. From what I've heard, Sony and Panasonic make the best 32" LCDs at the moment though. I thought the Sony was worth the extra for their good reputation for reliability, and the picture quality seemed good compared to others I saw, but I haven't seen any LGs.
