This is £395 on Amazon and thought the price as very good

That's good delivered.

I saw the same TV in Macro today for £299 + VAT so £352, but you obviously have to collect it.

Exactly the same price at TeleWorld:

teleworldplc.com/mod…w=1

No idea about them though.

I ordered one of the TV`s so will let you know when it arrives. It says it takes 5-10 days so fingers crossed.

I'm sure that Amazon are doing 3 years free guarantee on Sony TV's at the mo, £40 for 2 further years isn't bad.
Good price if you don't want the extra gurantee though!

Great price. Have some heat.

I have this TV in the bedroom.

There may be a reason its cheap, read the links above about the retailer.

The reviews on pricerunner are not to bad, will see how it goes.

I know someone who recently ordered a TV from this place and it never arrived, and they never got a refund.

They ended up charging back the transaction through their bank after a lot of hassle.

I am after this TV. The option of £395 from Amazon or £399.99 from Play seems a better choice, just be the fact they are trusted retailers and I know with Play you get the 3 year warranty.
Can anyone clarify if you get 3 years with Amazon as well? STOP PRESS, just checked the Amazon web site, this particular Sony TV DOES qualify for a 3 year free warranty (you have to claim after purchase, but seems easy enough).

Thanks,

Bunnster

I`ve never had a problem with anything i have collected in person from these guys, the extra warranty you get from amazon makes it the better deal.

.

Yeh i'm pretty sure that a three year warranty justifies the additional £40

Thanks for this. I will stick to Amazon.

The 3-years Sony warranty is a joke (amazon & play.com). Read the T&C carefully. You can only make one claim within 3 years, plus you have to pay the delivery cost of the exchange set, plus you need pay least £4.50 for the delivery of your claim form to sony. For example, if your TV brakes down after only 14 months, you only get 2 months extra warranty for the extra £45 you paid.

You can claim as many times as you like in the 3 yrs under the Amazon scheme, however if a replacement is needed (A repair cannot be carried) then the warranty will end.
However the new TV they replace it with will have a 1 yr warranty with it just like any new item, so in theory if your TV blew up after 14mths it would be replaced with a new model and a new 1 yr warranty so you get a total of 26mths warranty and possibly a newer model TV.

Most warranties / service plans are like this when a replacement is issued.

They only ask you send the registration form off by recorded post for your own security as they cannot be held responsible for lost forms, I think normal recorded post is £1 or 60p more than standard post, there is no need for special delivery.

They do charge for delivery of the new item as this will come directly from Sony and they will charge the insurance company for this, this is usually £35.

If someone said to me 14mths down the road you can have a brand new TV for £35 or lose everything with no warranty I know what option I would go for.

£329.00 free delivery from dixons, and comet.

I would advise to wait till Feb/march 2009- as prices of HDTV will dramaticlly drop.Read secret tips below.
