good post

I have this tv on my shopping list for next month, a good price best I have seen elsewhere is 369 with 5 year warranty.

I have this TV. Excellent quality and a great price. Hot.

Thats a good price if you just want the telly. Imho, the extra £70 for the cinema system is well worth it.

Got to vote hot on the price though.

I've bought this tv recently from amazon for £365. It's good but not better than my 32" Digimate, which costs me £235, so I think that Sony is a bit over-rated. Don't buy this Sony model if you watch a lot of sport because you get fuzzy pictures with fast moving objects (my cheaper Digimate is better in this respect) Still voted hot because it's the best price at the moment. P.S. Don't pay extra for the 3-year or 5-year warranty from Sony. It's rubbish and a Con. Read the condition, your warranty only lasts to your first claim, which could be after one months of ownership. A good trick worked out by the Sony lawyers to get extra money for their sets, in this now very competitive 32" market place. My Digimate came with a standard 5-years collect and return warrranty without any restrictions or extra money to pay.

Wow! great price....

john lewis have this for £399 online with free 5 year warranty,if your local comet has this in stock jl will price match, you might have to pay the equivalent of comets delivery charge, but worth it for a 5 year warranty and peace of mind from jl

Does John Lewis sell their own 5-years warranty? Because the Sony warranty is a con and could last just 1 or 2 months if you are unlucky and your set breaks down early (see my comment further up).

I have this TV too..i haven't seen any fuzziness or blurring when watching footy or fast moving movies. Excellent set.

Just Called my Local JL, Bristol, they haven't got any stock, but would have probably honoured it. But they are expecting Huge Demand for this TV, I will be purchasing from Comet this evening, All reserved.

The John Lewis warranty is store based, you just keep the receipt and if you get any problems within a 5 year period they repair or replace the TV. End of

It is sold with all their TVs regardless of the model.

Why I keep banging on about JL is because their customer service is superb, you pay alot more for their goods but when you can price match you get the best of both worlds.

You also get 28 days price match policy, so if you buy this TV today at £329 in John Lewis and it drops to £280 at Comet with 28 days they will refund the difference over the phone.

Seconded.

It's a low end Sony screen - only 50hz, no Bravia2 engine, no features from the W4000 etc.

Nothing special here.

They should have one in Stock sometime today, I cancelled mine last night and got a price match on the Panasonic TX-32LXD85 £699 in John Lewis got it for £484.

Yes its a lower end model, but read the reviews of this TV and people are very impressed with it, and say that you can't get better for less than £400

you could have asked jl if they were expecting stock soon, and if they were paid for the tv now and when you took delivery of the tv ,if the price dropped any further you have 28 days from delivery date

Well the warehouse was getting some in on Monday 17th, so I guess a couple of days later for delivery to store.. I would imagine that alot of other stores will need to drop their prices to compete.

I bought the kdl32 S3000 about 6 months ago for £416. So if this is as good (or may be better?) a good deal. Voted Hot.

From the reviews it does seem a good set for the money, but what keeps coming up in both expert and personal reviews is the motion blur issue with fast moving images like tennis.
Dont personally know how bad this is as each time I popped into my local currys the picture was fuzzy as the signal was through the roof top aerial.

I watch alot of sport so cancelled my order for the V4000 and went for the Panasonic with 100Hz refresh, read lots of reviews and no issues with motion blur.

For me at the time £84 more was well worth it but now the difference is alot more so this TV does become more attractive price wise.

But I will stick with the Panny

You bother to point out it isn't as good as one which costs twice as much?

Of course it isn't as good as a W4000 - and a Ford isn't as good as a Ferrari. What an inane comment.

nice price

This sounds better.

This is a lot better than any of the TV's in the range, I got this and was impressed with how crisp the standard def image was, and how little blur there is. Got a panny 42" downstairs and obviously isn't as good but it's fairly close to the quality.

Good blacks and nice colours, looks great through high def obviously, another thing is it looks good too. Highly rate especially at this price.

If your looking for a surround sound system for it as well PCWorld are doing this tv + SONY DAVDZ260 for £399.

The SONY DAVDZ260 seems to be £140 most places........just another option.....

Watch the number of lemmings running out to buy this screen, because other lemmings are running out to buy the screen without properly considering how the screen performs, what they're requirements are, whether motion is going to be an issue for them, whether they watch alot of sport of fast motion video etc.

Utter madness.

Just looking through the specifications on currys & i see it's not 1080p HD which has put me off personally as i was going to buy one for my dad as a present. Think i'll wait for a tv around £400 thats 1080p, Great price though.

Ordered - thanks op. I've been looking at this for a while as an insurance replacement- and saw the price drop earlier this morning, but the price in basket was still the old one. Thanks for the reminder.

Title should be KDL32V4000 to indicate the size

Can anyone clarify the Jonn Lewis price match promise?

I orded this TV on Monday from JL at £399 with the 5 year warranty. It will be delivered on Monday. This was ordered through their 'direct' internet site and not via store. So will they price match to this Comet price of £329?

Any clarification would be appreciated before Monday's delivery?

Thanks.

If your after a 32" then 1080p is pointless to be honest, I would focus more on image quality with the refresh rate.
And what you will be watching on the TV, Blu ray films , Standard DVD , Freeview , Sky HD

If its normal Tv 90% of the time 1080p is a waste of time anyway

Yes they will, give them a ring this afternoon and tell them the current price at Comet (just in case they put the price back up or it gets sold out).
They will put the difference back on your card.

Heres their policy

Anyone recomend something cheap and cheerful to play my 360 on in the dining room, the whole buying a tv mallarkey is a bit of a nightmare.

You don't half talk some utter rubbish.

Broadcast HD (e.g. SKY HD, Virgin etc) is only 1080i anyway, so unless he will be watching alot of BD content then 1080p isnt really needed (especially on a 32" set)

Is this or the sharp one better, i'm thinking this one?

The Sony KDL 40V4000 gets a good review here - I am guessing the one posted in the deal is the same tv only 32 inch.

whathifi.com/Rev…00/

edit: no, sorry, it's not the same. Accoprding to Amazon, the 40V4000 is 1080p. Ignore the review.

Not quite- the 40" has 1080p and 24fps support which the 32" doesn't.

But, if you're just after a television to watch stuff on, rather than something to pixel peep with, I don't see how you can go wrong at this price.

Seems from the review that SD is poor and HD is good
there is a user review which casts doubt on the quality
