Sony KDL-40S2510U 40" LCD TV - £642 @ Digital Direct

Found 21st Aug 2007
I've been looking for a decent brand + sized television for my living room, and have found this. It's been on digital direct at this price for a wee while now, so some of you may be aware of it.

However, for a massive television with good credentials and fine Sony heritage, I've not found anywhere cheaper than this place.

Oh, don't forget your 2.5% quidco, and they do 9 months interest free credit, which is always helpful! Digital Direct are a good, trusted site and I've known loads of people who have bought from them. All without issue, I might add.

Here's the usual bumph:

Nice find, the TV is very stylish. Also Sony isn't a bad manufacturer or a manufacturer no one's ever heard of.

some very cheap TV's on that site. very tempted!

The 'S' models are the cheap BRAVIAs, right? 'X' is top the range?

I can never remember.

That's right. 'S' models are for the plebs and W,V,X ranges are for the folk with actual money and business users etc.

It maybe worth paying the extra £60 and getting the Samsung PS42Q96HD from Currys with DVD recorder, mine is waiting for me at home!!!

Supposed to be a good set and given some very good reviews!

I actually dont like the look of the newer model Sonys. S model looks pretty cool tho.

One of the reasons why I want a samsung instead

Says the man who likes Techwoods TV's...:p

I bought a 40S2030 about 8 months ago for £1100.
This deal is a great price for a great TV.

Hey, don't knock it! I only paid £350 for it 7 months ago and it's for the bedroom. I was including myself in the 'plebs' list!

Would be too embarrassed to have one in the living room, though!

Tsk, if Techwood don't make TVs for plebs, I don't know who does...:p

I don't have this TV, but after reading up on them, it's probably the best LCD for picture/value in it's range. The Bravia engine is worth it's weight in gold, and it has 1:1 pixel mapping (an important feature which most people seem to ignore).

Good find.
