Sony KDL40W5810 40'' Full HD 1080p 100HZ LCD TV with Freesat (5Yr Warranty) +
BDP-S560 Blu Ray player FREE.

EDIT 11/12/09:
Price has risen by £20 to £789.99 from £769.99 that I paid but is still a much better deal than anywhere else at time of writing!

I could not believe this deal when I spotted it last night as it is the new Sony model!

Take an old TV to trade in down to Hi-Spec and get this superb TV with Freeview & FreeSat with a Free 5 year warranty for only £769.99. Even better, they'll throw in (carefully) a free BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Player (WiFi enabled version) completely free!

For anyone who missed the KDL40W5500 from Argos for £599 about 5 weeks ago this is an even better deal as you can sell the player for around £170 on Ebay. This gives you the W5810 for around the same price as the W5500 and with 2 years extra warranty.

Thought this may be a pricing error but I can confirm I picked them up today!

Amazon currently selling the player for £235.78 and the TV for £799 (Hughes Direct - 3Yr Warranty). Total: £1034.78
Dixons: £798.99 for just the TV with 3 yr Warranty.
Best comparison is John Lewis at £999 but that is with a BDP-S360 not a 560.

Price without a trade in is £869.99

Thanks sun4all

There are some real MORONS on here sometimes!
They must work for competitors and vote it cold so as to keep it hidden.
I know this is a cracking deal as the player sells for over £230 alone!
I'm a "happy bunny" anyway!

why why WHY!!! cold!! - this is HOT deal!........ people voting on price and not looking at FULL thread.

Many thanks for this post. Was looking at a two hour drive to go and collect one. Managed to get my local Sony shop to price match it (almost) by throwing in a fee dish install for freesat ( i have cable). So cheers!! Very pleased with the telly as well. Worth spending the extra to get the 100hz. Looking forward to the world cup in HD for free.

Hot deal!
Unfortunately there's too many numpties around on here when it comes to AV equipment. A great TV, blu ray player and price. A bit of a bargain! A pain in the bum thought that you have to take an old telly in to trade for that price. I suspect many people may be able to copy survtech's example and haggle a little at their local Sony centre.

Good point Survtech!
If you are too far from their two stores at St Albans and Brentford use it as "leverage" at your local store. I travelled 40 miles to pick it up but an easy journey down the A1 and well worth it!

"normal":
If you really cannot find an old set to trade in then pop down to your local council tip and give them a fiver for an old one!

I tried the local tip but they wouldn't sell me one on Elf and Safety grounds. Got a duff one from the bin outside a charity and donated a fiver so everybodys haqppy!! Meryy Crimbo! :santa:
