Sony KDL-46EX403U 46" LCD Full HD 1080p TV

The Sony BRAVIA KDL46EX403U 46” TV has an impressive 46 inch screen that ably demonstrates the rich, vivid colours and excellent motion performance that characterise the BRAVIA series of televisions. This outstanding performance is complemented by a sleek, attractive design and great features including a built-in Freeview HD tuner.

Full HD 1080p ensures the picture is beautifully crisp and detailed when you're watching HD TV channels, Blu-ray movies or playing games, and the KDL46EX403U has a 24p True Cinema mode to ensure that you can watch films in all their 24 frames-per-second glory, as the director intended. To make movies look even better, Cinema Mode offers two different profiles to reproduce an authentic cinema experience at home, using unique film-like textures, and adjusted colour and brightness levels.

For day-to-day viewing, Sony's BRAVIA Engine 3 processing system ensures colour tones are true to life, contrast is optimised, and detail is reproduced faithfully. The BRAVIA's Ambient Sensor automatically detects the brightness and colour temperature of the light in the room, and optimises image quality to offer the best possible picture for your environment.

The KDL46EX403U BRAVIA has great sound to match the rich picture, using Sony's S-Force Front Surround system to create powerful, punchy sound, through invisible speakers hidden in the television's casing. The additional Clear Voice mode automatically boosts voice frequency bands and enhances poor quality voice recordings to produce crisp, clear dialogue, even at low volume levels.

This BRAVIA television has an inbuilt Freeview and Freeview HD tuner, so you can access all of the free to air terrestrial and high definition channels without the need for a separate set-top box.

The KDL46EX403U is Wi-Fi ready, so all you need to do is add a wireless dongle to be able to connect to your home network. This will allow you to connect directly to BRAVIA Internet Video and access online services, stream full-screen videos and catch up with TV shows you may have missed. You can even mark your favourite channels and internet videos, browse favourites by genre and visit them instantly at will. This television uses DLNA functionality to ensure that you can stream movies, music and photos to your television from any compatible device, no matter where in the house it is located.

Four HDMI connections allow you to connect the Sony BRAVIA KDL46EX403U 46” TV to all of your other HD sources, including Blu-ray players, games consoles and HD cameras and camcorders. USB functionality lets you plug in any USB device and enjoy films, photos and music on your television via USB playback. The universal remote control has BRAVIA Sync, which will control your entire home entertainment system at the touch of a button.

If you have a camera with GPS that geotags all of your photos, the KDL46EX403U will allow you to retrace your memories by displaying a world map onscreen showing the locations of all the photos you have taken on your travels.

Aplogies to anyone in Liverpool as I have just reserved the last one....sorry peeps..

where can you find the information about the trade-on part of the deal?

Just called and checked with Thurrock and they're not part of the current Sony trade in scheme.

Very good price - £30 less than I paid for my 37" model in January.

Just found this on the Best Buy website about the trade-in: CLICK HERE

That's a bit dodgy - their "trade-in" link doesn't make any reference to it being limited to certain Best Buy stores. I suspect the person you spoke to is hoping to save them all for friends and family.

According to Bestbuy there will be up to an hour delay before anyone receives a confimation email. Interesting, Is this their standard practice? Ordered from Merry Hill, will dig the old portable out of the loft

That's a flippin bargain. I paid £499 for the 40 inch model in October.

By way of a tip: on my TV I find the controls (volume, AV selector etc) to be a bit laggy, and the sound is utterly pish but it's a good set otherwise (absolutely loaded with features) - maybe the sound on this 46 inch model would be better due to its larger form factor.

I agree with the 'laggy' controls - but the sound on my 37" is fine - at least as good as any other LCD TV I've heard...

You're reading it wrong. You trade in any TV and you get a different discount based on the size of TV you are buying.

Buy a 40" TV and get £100 discount. Buy a 46" 3D TV and get £300 discount etc.

If it's anything like my 46W5500 model it's a great TV at an absolutely smashing price. I paid £980 about 18 months ago for that and even then it was £200 quid cheaper than anywhere else thanks to Currys having a good price + 10% off voucher at the time.

good spot - if they had many. none at derby.

Just rung head office and they are totally in the dark with the Sony trade in deal but are calling me back to confirm. The lady at the call centre agreed it can be ANY TV TO TRADE etc...
But once i get the return call from their head office I will leave an update.
I have reserved one from the Derby store and want a £150 OFF trade in with my old WORKING 14" CRT.
If this works out..happy days!!!!
