Found as the best deal on the hunt for a 37" LCD tv as not many reduced in the sales. Argos selling 'reduced' at £782.97. Installed at home now and it's pretty fine! Here's the boy jargon:

This 'V' series model from Sony's acclaimed 'Bravia' range looks stunning in its new slimline body with Piano Black finish. Switch it on and you will be greeted with incredibly clear and defined pictures, produced by Sony's own Bravia Engine picture enhancement technology. Everyday television programmes are rich in depth and colour, and if you connect the KDL37V4000 to a high definition picture source, such as a BluRay player or a Satellite hd box, you can experience breathtaking picture detail that is almost real enough to touch. The KDL37V4000 is as practical as it is beautiful - multiple connection sockets allow you to use a wide range of devices with the TV, while an eco-friendly 0.6W standby power consumption keeps the energy bills down.

Or for those of us without the space! 37" is apparantly now the most popular size so they're not being reduced in all the big chains.

Great tv (I have the 40" 1080p one) but if you have the space, don't mind the slightly higher power draw and can deal with the weight, for £499 I would def go for the PX80B everyone is hawking about (unless you use a PC with it for anything more than video playback, in which case LCD) as it's the same 720p type set but in sexy Panasonic plasma clothing...

...If not, it's hot!

Just bought the 32" version for £299 with 5 yr warranty from John Lewis. The 37" would have been perfect but I can't justify an extra £200.
Hot deal though.
