going cold??...please explain the reasons as i can;t find any better deal than this!!

Best price that I can see also... voted hot.. I guess there's two reasons for people voting cold.. maybe its because this is an outgoing range of TVs, replaced by the freesat version W5810 and also for those that judge 'apples with pears' you can get a bush 40 full hd tv for £300!!
Those people however should read this...

'fraid its just under a grand wherever I look for the 46" version.. so you wouldnt recommend the Panny G10 46" version then for £750?

How does this tv compare to the 50Hz Sony models available for around the £500 mark?

The W5810 is in addition to the W5500. The W5500 could possibly be making way for a Freeview+ HD version but it may be a case of a version being incorporated into the range alongside the Freesat model or may be included when they launch their new sets.

The 40W5500 is also £649.99 at Amazon and is £699 at Marks & Spencer (5% Quidco) but includes a 5 Year warranty vs. 3 Years and also includes installation.

if this model is on the way out is it worthwhile waiting a month or so and hope the price will come down?

I'd probably go for this now. With vat going up and a few offers before Christmas, I doubt you'll get this television for much less than the current price.

Although Freeview+ HD is imminent, the W range may not see this new tuner until the W6000 or whatever series which is likely to be some time away.
