Want this! I wish I had that sneaky Tesco App to check stock :-(
What a beauty, just bought a Sharp TV as well. Might return
Nice looking TV but every Sony LCD/LED I've ever seen has been great in HD but abysmal in SD. Also bear in mind that Active 3D on LCD/LED's usually flicker and has headache inducing crosstalk. If you want 3D, just go for the LG passive displays, (even though the resolution is lower.)
No surprise... These Tv's are so scrap they are trying to clear the stock...OS is unstable...
Not scrap. OS is junk but not everyones uses it. Bought the 805 (hate silver) a few months for £440 (John Lewis 5 year warranty at least) back after reading the Rtings.com review. It's a great picture, much better grey uniformity than my 2 year old LG.

Look at the loads of issues on the community

most of the issues predate the latest version from last December, also a lot of people are **** because they've paid full price last summer with the promise of USB recording, the USB recording didn't happen and keeps being put back.

I paid a fraction of the original price for my 55" and I'm very happy with it for the price I paid.

I've not had a single reboot, granted the menu's slow down sometimes but has never hung. Did you do a factory reset before the update as recommended?

of course they will if its still in stock when they check, you'll get a 5 year JL warranty as well.
How long does price match normally take?
Got a family friend with a 10% staff discount....think I'll be going for this now
I bought one of these at the start of the year. The OS was up to date, but it was so buggy. One day it would not turn on unless I unplugged it. Another day it would not turn off (kept turning back on).Navigation is painfully slow. It was so family unfriendly that I had to send it back.

usually a couple hours, if you did it now you would probably get a reply 1st thing tomorrow.
they'll always price match unless it's an online only retailer. certainly wouldn't reject a Tesco price match.
remember this set is silver, and they will only price match on the silver.
I got the £399 Sony KDL43W805CBU last week. arriving tommorow. would it be worth returning and getting this. it's £70 cheaper !! and seems to have exactly the same stats if not a better 900hz refresh
Payday tomorrow... Hmm...
Said it in other threads so I don't want to seem like a stuck record, but I'd really advise caution over these Sony Android TV models. It's a nice price but there's so many bugs, even with the latest software updates. Android itself is slow and clunky to use, the selection of apps is pitiful, and because it's running on-top of (or alongside) Sony's basic 'software' you end up with inconsistencies where some settings or actions are made via Android-style menus/interfaces, while others are clearly the Sony interface instead. It's all a bit of a mess so it's not surprising there are so many bugs and issues.

I returned my first one (KDL-50W805C) last November due to a poor panel and the various software-related issues, the replacement had a better panel and the updates did at least fix some problems (albeit the addition of YouView introduced more), and today I've returned the replacement due to a clicking noise emanating from the rear near the power supply connector.

I hope for the sake of the other owners of these that Sony do quickly get all the problems sorted and find a way to improve the general performance of the OS, but I can't see any reason to wait for them to do it.

what sneaky app would that be? just the regular app on google play?
Does everyone in a family sit down and have to watch a separate Android TV each signed in to each family members google account? If there’s only one television, how can this possibly work, unless it is possible to have everyone signed in at the same time, which I believe it isn’t? Doesn’t the voice command thing therefore assume that the account holder has an amazingly wide array of completely differing voice spectral characteristics to analyse and recognise? What about Android apps that one person has bought and another hasn’t? What about when a person has friends round? All the youtube watching gets logged on the account owner’s youtube history instead of the person who actually chose to watch those things? I fail to understand how Android TV is built to accommodate anyone but single friendless people.
One of the reviews complains of a lip sync issue?
Refused a John Lewis price match as its a tesco direct deal and not actually tesco apparently. They said it's not an In store deal also.
Think I'll give this a miss until I hear more positive things about the software

JL probably won't match the price. I tried when costco had a TV in stock cheaper than JL and they said that they don't match "online retailers". That was odd because they were selling the same product online too and costco us a wholesale shop. Worth a try though.

Literally done the exact same. Mine arrives tommorow but asked JL for silver price match. Best case they say keep black for 329 or say return and we will send u silver.
Bought the black version for £359 a couple of months ago. The worst piece of tech I've ever bought.

If you want to use the inbuilt Freeview HD then say goodbye to any responsiveness. If you use an external box to do all the image processing then it won't be so bas. Make sure you do a hard reset of the TV once a week as it will slow to a crawl. Especially if you use multiple apps. The TV guide is unusable due to the delay in the TV responding to remote commands whilst using the inbuilt tuner.

Sony have massively underspecced the processor/memory required for a fully blown operating system like Android. I like Android, but Sony completely messed this up.

I believe you can have multiple accounts, not sure as I never tried it. The voice feature is rubbish, it's just voice search powered by Google now, but less useful than it is on a phone/tablet. The search function won't search across many of your apps, so if you're looking for a TV show or movie title for example, it won't search in iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video etc to find it, you'll just get YouTube and Google Play results back.

I've used Android for many years on various phones/tablets and I really like it, but Android TV is a pretty poor effort by Google. There are a lot of missing features, virtually no customisation of your homescreen and realistically, it's just another smart TV launcher that happens to let you run a few Android apps/games.

I'd go for it if dipped below £300...
nah...I wouldn't. I just want a 43" Sony HD TV for about £200 ish

accepted mine, try again. accepted my match on the black version at £399 from tesco direct last week also
gives me 28 days to order from the day of the price match, even if anything changes. shame there's no real consistency with their staff at the price match dept.
John Lewis will price match. Got email confirmation. Ordered with 5 year warranty, also a.com will price match too plus £50 cash back. I wanted the 5 year warranty for peace of mind. Even tho bought Sony tv's for 20 years never had any problems.
We match prices publicly available to all customers, based on those displayed in a shop, on the high street competitor's own website, or the first price quoted to us over the phone. The price has to apply to an identical individual product in terms of make, model, size or colour. This approach ensures consistency for all our customers and ensures the policy is transparent.

John Lewis are selling the KDL43W805CBU, and Tesco Direct are selling the KDL43W807CSU, which is not hte same product.

Therefore, on this occasion I am sorry I cannot match the price offered by Tesco Direct. If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and our pricing you can do so on our website.
